Sharks management must have been reading Sharksworld over the last few months, as news has filtered through about a specialist defence coach spending some time at the Shark Tank.
The Sharks website reports that Springbok defence coach John McFarland spent a few sessions with the Sharks, to help them prepare for the Super Rugby season that kicks off in three weeks’ time.
Even though the help may not have been at the request of John Plumtree, it is reported that it is an initiative by the Springboks to lend a hand at each of the Super Rugby franchises and getting all South Africans playing in a similar way, the help will go a long way.
McFarland joined Carlos Spencer at the Sharks in preseason as outside specialist, Spencer being reported as helping young Pat Lambie, and surely the likes of Fred Zeilinga as well, with their flyhalf play. Plumtree hinted that he would have liked Spencer around a little longer, but that he will help the team out throughout the season.Tweet
