The Bulls have confirmed that neither Bok prop Dean Greyling nor lock Wilhelm Steenkamp will be available for their clash against the Stormers this weekend.
Steenkamp has a shoulder problem and while not a first-choice player in Pretoria, with the likes of Flip van der Merwe and Juandre Kruger available, would nonetheless have been likely to fulfil a bench role and thus renew his rivalry with brother De Kock, who plays in the second row for the Stormers. Steenkamp’s AC joint injury will see him miss out on around two weeks’ of action.
Greyling, on the other hand, is considered the Bulls’ first-choice loose head prop, but has not yet recovered from a stress fracture of the foot. He’ll be on the sidelines for another week; the absence of deputy Dawie Steyn, who is recovering from a broken leg sustained last year, will see rookie Morne Mellett start at 1 against the Stormers when the Bulls side is named later today.Tweet
