The Bulls have named their team to face the Brumbies in Canberra with young u/21 world cup star Jan Serfontein given his first start of the season.

Serfontein has played of the bench twice this season and looked particularly good in the last 20 minutes of the Reds game when his impact got the Bulls over the try line, but just short of a winning try, with JJ Engelbrecht’s foot going into touch before grounding the ball.

Even this early in the twenty year old’s rugby career he has been earmarked for higher honours and this will be just what he needs to try and cement a place in the Bulls midfield where he is fighting for a spot against Wynand Olivier and another promising youngster in Francois Venter, who he replaces this week.

In two further changes to the back line Jurgen Visser comes in for injured Bjorn Basson on the wing and Morne Steyn returns to his spot at flyhalf in the place of Louis Fouche.

In the forwards another injury in the Bulls ranks, has Wilhelm Steenkamp, who flew to Australia this week, covering the bench for the injured Grant Hattingh and Juandre Kruger taking his place in the starting line-up.

Jacques Potgieter drops out of the 22 completely with Arno Botha taking his place on the bench.

The Bulls will be hoping to find some redemption in a win against a Brumbies team who return home this week after their first loss this season at the hands of the Stromers.
