Sharks are favourites! Pass it on…

The Greatest rugby team south of the Equator never to have won the Super Rugby title! Yes mense, I am referring to the Mighty Sharks! Black and White. Nothing Else Matters!!

Having been a regular (as well as Rob’s silent BEE partner) on Sharksworld since it’s inception, I have to admit I can’t ever recall a time the Sharks have been as overwhelming favourites for a match against their Coastal cousins as this week’s upcoming encounter at Newlands.

Home ground advantage my ass! Um, hello?? Newlands is THE home ground of the Cape Kroesaders people! Try the other one! Last year’s CC win by Western Province you say?? Luister hierso, is julle dan dom?? What on earth has the Currie Cup got to do with Super Rugby?? It’s not the same competition is it?? Jeez!

Any other excuses?? Be my guest. The Sharks will beat the under-achieving Stormers on Saturday because they are a better team on paper, have been winning consistently since the start of the tourney and more importantly, they possess SA’s supreme flyhalf in Patrick ‘SuperPat’ Lambie.

I just can’t see the Sharks losing this one!

You broke at least 5 SW rules in 1 article and Rob hasn’t even banned you(again)

Stormers are not only favourites with the Bookies but also because they have the Springbok centre pairing and we have turnstile Bosman and speedbump Jordaan!

  • If the Sharks pitch up and play the game they are capable of playing, we should win, but then if the Stormers play the game they played against the Cheifs, then no team will be able to beat them this year.

    It really just depends.

With the Stormers being almost out of this competition they can hardly afford to lose this one, so they will have to start playing at their best otherwise this won’t be the last game they will go into as “OVERWHELMING UNDERDOGS”

  • This should be a cracker of a game. Stormers desperation vs. superior Sharks bench. I would not be surprised if the Stormers pull ahead in the first half, but then the question will be if they can maintain the lead in the second.

  • Dont tell anyone, but I heard the cupboard is looking so bare at Newlands, that theyve drafted in Morne Morkel to try to win some line-out ball… Pieter Steph to run all over the Light Five, Coetzee to show up Siya for the lightweight he is and Frans Steyn… man oh man, Frans Steyn is going to slot drop goals from Newlands Cricket Ground!

  • @Bokhoring (Comment 22) : Hmmmm good question, maybe the WPRU president could tell us, but seeing as we klapped the Saders I think they will see a victory over the Sharks as some form of victory for the Saders.
