The Proteas face Pakistan in a do or die match in the 2013 edition of the Champions Trophy.

News coming from within the camp has not been great, with Morne Morkel already back in South Africa after injury ruled him out, it looks as if Dale Steyn will only be ready for the Proteas’ next clash, which is against the West Indies.

All this could result in a debut for Chris Morris. Morris replaced Morkel in the side and upon his arrival in the UK, was told to expect to play against Pakistan. Rumours of Robin Peterson and Aaron Phangiso both playing in this match was quashed by captain AB de Villiers, who said that one of either Peterson and Phangiso, along with Duminy, will be the spinners in this match.

The match starts at 14h00.

  • Playing spin bowlers in a 20/20 match against Pakistan – are they trying to fight fire with fire

“we’ll beat them by giving them exactly what they want”

  • @Richard Ferguson (Comment 3) : Wow, where have I been

So this is basically just another useless competition to try and revive limited overs cricket?

Thought we had the world cup for that.

  • Slow but steady.

Good to Amla getting some runs; could get very interesting if he gets “in”.
some big hitters to come after him!

We just need to keep our heads here, and continue to get the singles once the batsmen get in properly..

Let the bigger hitters score the runs in the last 15 overs

The likes of Faf, AB and Duminy to come!
I’d prefer them to get to the crease around the middle of the innings to avoid the usual mid innings collapse.

I was a bit puzzled by that if truth be told.
He just doesnt seem to have cemented his spot, which is strange as he’s scored some runs.

  • Was a very good bowling performance from the boys – quite pleasing to see  esp Morris at the beginning and Lonwabo in his 2nd spell ;-) Thought we were about 20 odd runs short but knew we could defend it if we bowled and fielded well.
