Injuries to Toring Landman and Marnus Schoeman have forced Griquas coach Pote Human into changes ahead of Friday’s Currie Cup match against the Blue Bulls.

Jaco Nepgen moves from blindside flank to lock to cover for the big number 5, who broke his thumb early on at Kings Park last week. Jonathan Adendorff moves off the bench into the vacant number 7 jersey, with Carel Greeff set to make his first start on the other side – a direct replacement for Schoeman.

RJ Liebenberg and Leon Karemaker come onto the bench as forward replacements, leaving the match 22 otherwise unchanged.

Griquas: 15.Gouws Prinsloo, 14.Nico Scheepers, 13.JP Nel, 12.Howard Mnisi, 11.PJ Vermeulen, 10.Francois Brummer, 9.Jacques Coetzee, 8.Burger Schoeman, 7.Jonathan Adendorff, 6.Carel Greeff, 5.Jaco Negpen, 4.Hilton Lobberts, 3.Lourens Adriaanse, 2.Ryno Barnes (captain), 1.Steph Roberts.
Reserves: 16.Matthew Dobson, 17.Nick Schonert, 18.RJ Liebenberg, 19.Leon Karemaker, 20.Marnus Hugo, 21.Du Randt Gerber, 22.Rocco Jansen

  • @Lassy_lion (Comment 1) : Hope you are right… but I somehow doubt their ability to shine more than once against big unions.
Who knows I might eat my words after this weekend?

  • @R Hayward (Comment 2) : no, I share your concerns. I don’t see them rolling the Bulls this weekend, but their first home game is going to be a big one.

  • @Lassy_lion (Comment 9) : MY SuperRugby run on Bru was: out of the 70 odd games for the season… I could only get 14 of the 1st game per weekend right!!!
Meaning that whomever I picked for the 1st match per weekend kaked af!

Sharks by 3, Bulls by 5-10, WP Cheethas is tuff!! Draw again?
Come to think of it… my trend on predicting the 1st game is still going strong!!! LAST WEEK I WENT SHARKS BY 15!!!!
