  • Cant wait to see and buy one!!!!! Go Sharks!

For another teaser, Rob please help! On my tweeter timeline a sharkfan has tweeted an article from KEO, (yes I know that is why I am trying to see if true) that sais White is courting Luke Watson to come to Sharks. tell me is it even remotely true, and if so why? our loosie cupboard is full of the best in SA anyway!

  • Looks like it will be predominantly black from what little they give away while the away jersey will be inverted. I’ll be a very happy fan if this is the case. I love a simple, minimalistic design.

  • @Sharksmad – The Blog’s Dudette (Comment 2) : I read the article and it seems like White is staying updated on Watson’s progress after injury. Watson could be a very good slot-in replacement for someone like Jacques Botes.

  • Thanks Rob, I was just asking about this yesterday.

From that very brief shot we got in the clip, I may just have to purchase one of these. Will make it the first Sharks jersey I have bought in ages.

I get the feeling that he just wants to play. I noticed the change after his stint at Bath where, by all accounts, he had chilled out massively.
The other Saffas in the side (Butch and Pete Dixon) also said that they saw a change in him for the better.

  • @Sharksmad – The Blog’s Dudette (Comment 7) : Certain debates (like Meyer as Bok coach and Lambie’s best position) just bore me to death these days. The same facts/opinions are constantly regurgitated with neither side really interested in the other’s point of view. I don’t care about Watson’s past but it really bother others people. So be it.

I trust the new Sharks management enough to be completely content with whatever decision they decide to make on the matter and will accept that as the best decision.

  • I intentionally haven’t done anything about Watson because I consider it a non-story at the moment.

Jake extending a nice olive branch, proving that he’s not the bad guy a lot of people think he is. I sense Smit’s hand in this.

Lots of miles still to travel before we see Watson in Durban, though. Let’s see what happens. We could be hit by another loose forward injury crisis this season and need some extra depth at 6. Would rather have Watson than penalty machine Minnie…

BLK have a nice 'design your own' feature on their website, so I froze the video where you can see the full blurred jersey, hopped over to the BLK site, and made this. Not sure about the red, but from what I could make out, I believe this is very close to what our jerseys will look like

(Can you tell it's quiet at work? P.S. Don't tell my boss  )

These days kids got the buying power! If the jersey stays the same it doesn’t sell, people just wear the jersey they bought 5 years ago. Money makes the world go round.

  • People change, especially in their 20s. Many people are very arrogant and self centered in their early 20s and quickly realize that is no way lead a happy productive life and and end up becoming less selfish and arrogant. Quite frankly since Luke left for England I have heard very few complaints about his behaviour. In general people have been complimentary and he was made Captain of Bath. It is one thing being made Captain of EP, but to be made Captain of Bath was certainly not favouritism.

Also, checking on someone’s progress recovering from injury is a far cry from him signing with the Sharks. Seriously folks, time to let go of the past and allow him to show us he has changed. Some of you need to be just a little more forgiving of people that have truly changed. I also despised Watson when he was an arrogant git, but I believe he has changed and he deserves credit for changing.

  • I for one have no problem with Luke. Just put yourself in his shoes for once, growing up during those dark year, your parents taking an unpopular stand against an unjust system. Surely he was targetted and had to develop a think skin. Most of the things he said were influenced by that. Not saying he wad right or wrong, just asking you to put everything in context. Flip, the man has come out and said he is sorry, what else must he do? Let’s learn to move on and put the past behind us.

  • @GreatSharksays (Comment 50) :Bro, they are shit stirrers. my grandfather sang and preached in the local black church and my dad played soccer in Ncotshane. They were never unpopular with their white friends. Some men are just Rsoles. Some men just want to be controversial for the sake of it. Cheeky uses the race card to get places. Im not saying we must not forgive Luke for saying stupid things. Surely we must! But lets not justify that he said he wanted to “vomit on the jersey”. Or that the sharks are more interested “jaccuzis and push ups behind the posts” when he joined the stormers. If he comes then great because hes a good player. As long as he shuts the fk up.
