More news from the Cape

News came through yesterday that Jean de Villiers, not surprisingly, has been appointed captain of the Stormers team for Super Rugby purposes. There are more bits of news coming from that part of the country…

Firstly, reports surfaced over the weekend that Gio Aplon was in talks to join French side Grenoble. His agent has since spoken to the Cape Times, stating that this is in fact not true, and should he be moving away from the Stormers, his destination of choice would be Japan. In fact, he went as far as saying that Aplon was looking at leaving at the end of his current contract, which runs out at the end of this season.

Keeping it in the backs, news this morning indicates that Cheslin Kolbe will have to wait a few months to make his anticipated Super Rugby debut. The youngster hurt his knee in a training ground accident, and will be out for at least 8 weeks. Allister Coetzee confirmed this by stating that he had torn his lateral meniscus in an freak accident.

  • So we’ll have to wait some time yet before Kolbe’s over INFLATED ego is cut down to fit his rather deflated “physical” frame.

He might as well use his time off constructively and join an early rehab program…catch the problem before he turns into an ozzie sportsman.

  • @Poisy (Comment 8) : every time you change it, it resets to a default pic while waiting for approval.

The approval process is automated and runs every 5 minutes.

Patience, in other words, is a virtue
