JP Pietersen’s Panasonic Wild Knights team will play in a rescheduled Japanese Top League Final on Tuesday morning, after the match against Suntory Sungoliath (originally scehduled for Saturday) had to be postponed due to a blizzard.
The delayed game will have a knock-on effect on the Bok winger’s availability for the Sharks, since his return to Durban is now expected to be put off until the end of this week, at the earliest.
Coach Jake White would probably not have had any intention of including Pietersen – who has spent no time with the team – in his side for Saturday’s game against the Bulls anyway, but will now be hard-pressed to get Pietersen integrated in time for the round two clash with the Hurricanes.
The Sharks enjoy a bye in round 3, meaning that the smart money would be on a return for JP ahead of the fourth round match against the ? Lions, at Kings Park on 8 March.Tweet
