Pocock out for the year

The Brumbies have been dealt a bitter blow with the news that start Wallaby flank David Pocock has had to have a second ACL reconstruction operation within a year.

Pocock joins the unfortunate Bulls loosie Arno Botha in suffering a second successive knee ligament rupture; the operation to reconstruct the joint took place last night (Australian time), just about a year after the last time he had it done.

He now faces at least 9 more months out of the game.

We wish David all the best for his recovery.

Good ambassador for the sport, and an example of how to be selfless to those little self loving Ausie brats

  • @robdylan (Comment 3) : Lol, I hear you Rob, I was just wondering where all the people that so gleefully like to shout “glassboy” have gone. Here is a player also just back from injury and he has broken down. Why is he exempt from this??
Because he isn’t perceived as a threat to the Sharks supporters favourite son. That is the only reason Goosen has been ridiculed. Not only here mind you, but the greater percentage of anti Goosen protaganists have been Sharks supporters. Odd ain’t it?

  • @KingCheetah (Comment 4) : I don’t speak for all sharks supporters but I don’t have a problem with Goosen. I just don’t comment much on him. I actually wish he wouldn’t get injured so much because the better he plays the more Lambie will push himself. Besides Boks will be in serious trouble if we don’t have at least 2 very good flyhalfs by the end of the year.

I do think reading too much into comments from various other sites (some worse than others but we all know which ones) can seriously taint perspectives on opposition supporters. After reading the vitriol that gets posted on other sites it no wonder that the majority of people who are left there are the angriest and loudest. Unfortunately no group of supporters exists without those tiresome window lickers.

  • @gregkaos (Comment 5) : Sure most have read the comments on voldys old site and I gotta say that around 3 or 4 of the regular posters on that site could make me despise all WP supporters for an entire day.

  • @gregkaos (Comment 5) : True that! Sport 24 is an absolute waste of time to even read the comments section. As for Voldy, yeah there were some wacked people on there! I am with you on this, I rate both Lambie and Goosen, and I don’t delight in players suffering injuries. It must be totally demoralising, if sport is your career, and to be knocked down, before you have had a decent run.

  • @KingCheetah (Comment 4) : Maybe some people just believe thay he is an extremely average player? I think its so stupid that as soon anyone points out the facts about Goosen they have to be a Lambie suuporter.

And the reason why Goosen gets the glassboy treatment when others dont is because you cheetahs supporters dcided to spouting to anyone who would listen that Goosen is the greatest thing to walk the earth, and the low and behold his flaws were revealed in a massive why.

In other words get your head out your arse Goosen is an extremely average rugby player, and in all honesty Lambie is not that much better, hes just doesnt break everytime he walks on the pitch.

  • @Seth101 (Comment 10) : Get your head out your own arse! It’s not just Cheetahs supporters that are Goosen fans, just like Lambie fans aren’t all Sharks supporters! This wasn’t about Goosen, its about small minded people who seem to delight in other’s misfortune, half the time because they are jealous, and the other half, because they never managed to achieve the same star status!

  • That chip weighing you down KC?

Maybe the Goose is a great player, maybe he isnt. Until he can play more than a few games in a row, we’ll never know.

I dont like Lambie – anyone on here will tell you that – but how to judge Goose when he cant even last a season?

We’ve seen this before with Andre Pretorius. Maybe they just make soft flyhalves in your part of the world?

  • @VinChainSaw (Comment 12) : My part of the world?? Lol you presume to much. As I said, it isn’t about Goosen or lambie for that matter. I get annoyed with people that delight in others misfortune, and gleefully predict that this or that player won’t last x mins before breaking down! That irks me, because it is just so negative and petty!
