  • This is why the local derbies really aren’t working.

Nobody outside of oz really cares about this game. Same goes for our local derbies and the kiwi local derbies.

The whole idea behind SR is to present franchise rugby to an international audience.

  • @FireTheLooser (Comment 1) : And yet the SuperSport team all agree its the best game of the weekend? Personally I don’t have a problem at all with derbies. And if you had watched the build up you would have heard an explanation of just how important and deep seated this derby is. Great game to watch, well played by both sides.

  • Over and above that, there has been a serious strengthening of the quality of rugby in generally, the ‘weaker sides’ win games like the Lions, Force, Rebels have all won some. This season has felt a lot more balanced and its been great to watch.

  • @Seth101 (Comment 3) : I can tell by the number of comments on this thread that this was the game of the weekend

What exactly have we learned from this game?
    1. The ozzies enjoy playing mind games before the game (what a revelation)
    2. The ozzies enjoy playing against themselves (probably why they invented sports which only they understand and enjoy)
