Shock, horror! It has finally happened…. if you go down to virtually any Premier Division club in Durban this weekend you’ll actually see contracted Sharks players turning out in club colours!

That’s right – Jake White spoke about this before the Super Rugby competition kicked off, about how he wanted to ensure that each club had a good smattering of Sharks stars on their books and how he wanted those players to be actively involved in said clubs. There was a bit of pain involved as players had to be “forcibly redistributed” away from Rovers and Durban Collegians, but with that dust now having settled and the bulk of the Sharks squad on an extended break from Super Rugby, it looks like game time, rather than rest, is back on the agenda.

According to the Sharks website, the following players should be in action for their various clubs this weekend:

Amanzimtoti: Lourens Adriaanse, Tera Mtembu, Tyler Fisher
College Rovers: Kyle Cooper, Keegan Daniel
Durban Collegians: Francois Kleinhans
Crusaders: Tonderai Chavanga
Rhinos: Danie Mienie, Wiehahn Hay
Varsity College: Franco Marais, Odwa Ndungane, Jacques Botes, Khewzi Mona, Khaya Majola

The “mother lode”, however, will be released next week, this includes Fred Zeilinga (Collegians), Heimar Williams (Collegians), SP Marais (Crusaders), Jean Deysel (Crusaders), Marco Wentzel (Crusaders), Tim Swiel (UKZN) and Ryan Kankowski (Amanzimtoti).

Sharp eyes will, of course, spot the return to match fitness of Ndungane, Fisher, Zeilinga, Wentzel and Chavanga and the return from suspension of Deysel.

Good to see Tyler Fisher back in action, Jake had big raps for him preseason so keen to see what he can offer in the Currie Cup

  • Lambie is in Mauritius doing photo shoots for his sponsor Jockey underwear.

According to a report this morning he is out for the season so not sure if that is new info on him or are they still on the initial prognosis of being out for the season.

I know we have it that he should be back in a week or 2? Maybe Rob can help us out here.

  • @Salmonoid the Subtle (Comment 12) : Hahahaha, sorry boet, yeah I tend to stay away from blogs for the most, Rugby for me is meant to be an enjoyment, Of late it seems to be more about reading how people trash people or teams or players etc.

  • @Salmonoid the Subtle (Comment 12) : I have to agree. There’s barely any rugby discussion and just a lot of hate.

I really enjoy Sharksworld because it’s all about rugby discussions and not about trolling.
