Both Edinburgh Rugby and the Sharks yesterday confirmed that lock Anton Bresler will make the former his home on completion of this year’s Super Rugby season.

Bresler has signed a 3-year contract to join Alan Solomons at the Scottish club, following in the footsteps of junior Sharks prop Allan Dell, who arrived in the Scottish capital last month.

Bresler told the club’s official website: “When I first heard there was interest from Edinburgh Rugby and Alan Solomons [head coach] I immediately did some research to build up my knowledge of the country and the club.

“I read about some big wins and some narrow losses against some of the top teams in the competitions and it struck me as a chance to join a club that’s moving in the right direction and where hopefully, together, we’ll be able to push on and do some great things.

“I’m really excited. I’ve always wanted to compete with the best, and this is a fantastic opportunity to take on the top players of the northern hemisphere.

“I’m really looking forward to it.”

We’d like to wish Anton and Kelly all the best for the move and the future.
