  • I know it’s not compulsory, but after having been a loyal Sharks supporter for twenty years, and having been rewarded with many memorable and pride instilling performances,I think it is no more than proper to officially tender my resignation as such. Since the loss to the Blue Bulls in the 2007 final in the Shark Tank, of all places, it has been a never ending story of great expectations and subsequent disillusionment. This loss, unfortunately, must rank as the absolute low in the past twenty years of Sharks rugby and was a disgrace.

  • @PJ (Comment 1) : you don’t think that sometimes we just maybe expect to much of the team? Winning is nice and yes a loss like today hurt but that’s life. So who are you going to support now as only the Saders seems to not disappoint their fans as much or are you now finished with rugby?

  • @JD (Comment 2) : talking of expectations, I would have expected the Sharks to have won Super rugby at least once in 20 years, maybe even a few times.

The Bulls have won it 3 times…

Sharks fans are becoming far too accepting of failure and mediocrity it seems. Do not let the failure numb your expectations.

  • @Feather (Comment 4) : ja maybe you’re right but I have a different look on life.
These guys play rugby as a work and they try their hardest to win every time, but that’s just impossible. Yes they make mistakes and yes sometime they really look poor but I do believe that they do not like losing games and would love to win every game and try to win every game.
In every persons working live you have good days and bad days at the office, some days it all just goes south no matter how hard you try and for these guys unfortunately their is no delete button that allows them to start over, they have to wait for next year and start all over again.
Yes the Sharks lost and yes they did not look good, but we all live and the sun still shine today. There’s more important things in live.
