According to our information, the Sharks will be at least four players to the good when the Currie Cup kicks off next month.
An Australian website this morning let the cat out of the bag regarding former Cheetahs, Western Province, Bulls, Lions and Brumbies flyhalf-cum-fullback Lionel Cronje. The 25-year-old former Junior Springbok will move once again and apparently make Durban his home for the next two seasons.
If what we’ve heard is correct, another player who has moved around a fair bit, scrumhalf Conrad Hoffmann, will be coming with him. This will be Hoffman’s second stint with the Sharks, but he’s also spent time with both Western Province and the Brumbies.
Boland lock JC Astle, who played Craven Week rugby for KZN, has returned to the province and will look to secure a place in the Currie Cup group, while former Kearnsey boy and England international Matt Stevens has also arrived to provide depth at prop.
More on these as and when they’re confirmed.Tweet
