Tonight we head to Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit, where the Pumas will seek revenge after conceding a bonus point loss in Durban a fortnight ago.

The visitors have been eking out wins despite not being in great form – they’ll know they need to play a hell of a lot better if they’re to avoid picking up a first loss of the campaign tonight.

Kick-off is at 19h10.

Steval Pumas: 15 JW Bell, 14 Jerome Pretorius, 13 JW Jonker, 12 Stefan Watermeyer, 11 Rosco Speckman, 10 Justin van Staden, 9 Dylon Frylinck, 8 Renaldo Bothma, 7 Uzair Cassiem, 6 Corne Steenkamp (captain), 5 Giant Mtyanda, 4 Frikkie Spies, 3 Vincent Koch, 2 Francois du Toit, 1 Corne Fourie.
Replacements: 16 Frankie Herne, 17 Dee-Jay Terblanche, 18 Marius Coetzer, 19 Jaco Bouwer, 20 Reynier van Rooyen, 21 JC Roos, 22 Coenie van Wyk.

Cell C Sharks: 15. SP Marais, 14. Odwa Ndungane, 13. S’bura Sithole, 12. Paul Jordaan, 11. Tonderai Chavhanga, 10. Fred Zeilinga, 9. Conrad Hoffmann, 8. Tera Mtembu (Capt) , 7. Francois Kleinhans, 6. Jacques Botes, 5. JC Astle , 4. Etienne Oosthuizen, 3. Matt Stevens, 2. Kyle Cooper , 1. Dale Chadwick
Replacements: 16. Franco Marais, 17. Lourens Adriaanse, 18. Stephan Lewies , 19. Johan Meyer , 20. Cameron Wright, 21. Heimar Williams, 22. Lionel Cronje

For the first time I’m actually enjoying a game in which the Sharks are losing, simply because the joy of watching great rugby is more important and it just so happens that said rugby is provided by the Pumas right now.

Any quality offered by the Sharks will be savoured equally.

  • Very simple and direct set move by the Pumas ends with Watermeyer scoring under the posts. Very effective rugby Pumas. And at the right time.

    Another error costing the Sharks.

  • Sharks haven’t been terribly good, but all the decisions are going the Pumas way.

Whatever the ref is thinking, that is the result.

However, the Pumas aren’t playing well enough that this should be the deciding factor, if the Sharks pick up their game, they’ll win.

  • So the Pumas are now ahead of the Sharks on the log. Jimmy Stonehouse predicted that they would end 5th this season. At this stage it could be better than that!

  • What a pathetic display I am truely embarrassed to be a Sharks supporter. A pathetic display from the Sharks, individual players embarrassing, team tactics completely useless. Coach bow your head in shame, players to the same. Well played Pumas.

The 7 point win against a 14 man Griekwas…unconvincing victories against Pumas at the tank and Cheetahs…

Anyone know why they so disjointed?

  • The Pumas made silly mistakes…and the old Sharks team would have capitalised on that…but the Pumas just eased back…

Sharks loosies not defending well…dont cover in defence at all…allowing Pumas to break through the middle….

  • @Here be dragons (Comment 130) : It does not mater which players are selected, as long as we have idiot coaches that believe kicking to ball is the only way to play rugby we will never move forward, there is no guts in this team
