Ruan Kramer has lead the Sharks under 19 side to a famous 52-7 win over the Blue Bulls on Kings Park’s outer fields this afternoon.

With Jacques Botes and the Sharks seniors cheering them on, young centre Marcel Coetzee scored three of his side’s six tries in a completely dominant display that must surely sew up a semi-final appearance for the youngsters in black and white.

Flyhalf Innocent Radebe nailed two penalties before Coetzee struck for the first time. Marius Louw (the inside center) scored the second, with Coetzee and lock Hyron Andrews adding 5-pointers to clinch the bonus point by half time. Radebe nailed two of the four conversions to see the Sharks take a 30-7 lead into the break, the Bulls having scored through Ivan van Zyl midway through the half.

Jean-Luc du Preez scored the fifth from flank and replacement prop Andy du Plessis the sixth, with Coetzee adding the seventh just before full time. Radebe converted two of the second-half tries and added a superb drop goal for good measure.

Sharks under 19 (52): Tries Marcel Coetzee (3), Marra Louw, Hyron Andrews, Jean-Luc du Preez, Andrew du Plessis. Conversions Innocent Radebe (4). Penalties Rabede (2). Drop goal Radebe.
Blue Bulls under 19 (7): Try Ivan van Zyl. Conversion Dewald Human.

  • Seems the Sharks should contract every rugby-playing Marcel Coetzee they can lay their hands on

  • @bobby 26 (Comment 7) : I’ll take one of those two results.

I believe we’ve lost Cope to what looks like a bad injury already.
