Fans, we’d like to collect messages of support for Pieter-Steph du Toit.

Anyone who’s been through an extensive rehabilitation period will tell you that winning the mental battle is often more important than the physical process of recuperation and recovery. Pieter-Steph, strong as he is, will be at a low point, having picked up a second season-ending injury in as many years, and is going to be need support from friends, family, team mates and fans over the period to come.

Please post your messages of support for Pieter-Steph and I’ll make sure that he gets them later this week.

Only positive messages, of course. Let’s show this young man just how much he means to all of us.

  • Pieter-Steph, we all hope and pray that you will make a speedy recovery and that you will soon be back. We know you have the potential to be one of the greatest rugby players in the history of the game!

    Always remember this:
Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they’ve been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It’s an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It’s a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING.

  • PSDT you will be sorely missed, certainly by me,I have you down as the next BOK captain.
I have been told that I am an idiot for saying that as you are only 22 but Michael Hooper is 23.
But on the bright side you have a knee injury and that can be fixed, its not a Spinal injury,a neck injury or a brain injury.
You are young and you will be back, use your rehab time to feed your hunger for the game.

As a fan I was gutted to hear the news of you injury. i keep asking myself why? and its not fair! but i cant imagine what you must be going through.

All i can say is stay strong big guy, train your mind and your body will follow. Im still believing that you will be ready come the world cup! anything is possible. Good luck Pieter! you are a machine and I Know you will come back stronger than before. Watching the Sharks games wont be the same without you smashing guys around the field.

I wont even hope or pray for a miracle because I know you will be back sooner rather than later.

Black & White, nothing else matters!

  • Hi Pieter-Steph

I can only imagine what you’re going through emotionally. I’ve had my share of bad luck with a spinal fusion and various broken bones over the years. If I can offer some advice it is to keep yourself busy.

Hang out with friends, focus on studies and business interests and hobbies and spend lots of time with friends and family. You are always at your lowest when you’re alone and have time to think about things.

Good luck and I will be praying for you along with everyone else in the Sharks family!

    Best wishes

  • Hi Pieter-Steph. I cannot begin to imagine what you must been going through. You waited so long to get back and the way you’ve been playing no-one would guess that you’d been off so long previously. You have grown in stature on the rugby field in such a big way, despite the fact that you’ve been sitting on the sidelines for so long before the start of this season. I’m going to pray for you every night. I’m putting you on my prayer list. I sincerely hope you will come right long before the World Cup. South Africa needs you!
God bless you and, heal you in time for the World Cup. That will be my prayer. You deserve much more than that which has been dished out to you! It’s going to be very different watching Sharks games without you. The Lord knows what you need. I think He will bring you back much sooner than you think now!
    Kindest Regards

  • Dear Pieter-Steph, when I talk about the Sharks (a nice subject for me), your name is spoken of with utmost respect among the likes of some big names like Bissie,Beast, Lambie and Kankowski. If I had a son and an accommodating wife there might be a little Pieter-Steph Jefferies running around trying to emulate his namesake. But I have two girls, which goes to show I think that you can never plan everything in life. If anyone can bounce back twice I reckon it would be you. As for me and my household we are thinking of you. God bless you Pieter-Steph!

All the best my man. I was at the Currie Cup Final in 2013 at Newlands where you were Man of The Match.I will never forget your performance on that day. Province didn’t give us a chance.

I know this won’t be the last final that i watch you live.
Stay strong; You’re an incredible player and you still have so much to offer to the rugby world. Its frightening what you have already achieved at your young age. (Normally the tight five mature in their later years and this is when they are at your best.)

Keep that spirit up that has made you a champion. I will keep you in my prayers.

    Sterkte

  • Hi Pieter-Steph

Glo en bly positief jong man. Jou wedloop is nog ver nie klaar nie en jy het nog baie mylpale wat jy gaan beryk.
