  • So the sharks are persistent in picking odwa…my goodness me. Stormers and bulls back exciting youngsters in colby and gellant, and we pick the human snail.
Not that the alternatives are any better at the sharks. Backs up what I was saying about the poor squad we have.
I was at the John Plumtree breakfast and they were also preparing for a very lean few years at the tank.

  • @John Galt (Comment 3) : Odwa is one of the safest players around and what you bitching about youngsters not getting a chance?
Wandile Mjekevu is 23, Paul Jordaan is 23, Andre Esterhuizen is 21 and Sibusiso Sithole is 25. Would you like an under 21 backline to play?!?!?!?

  • Well I for one would rather have Odwa and Pietersen than cronje, but I would like to see April get 15 minutes.

  • I think John Galt’s comment has merit. Odwa is not a match winner. Time to put him out to pasture. We don’t want “safe” from wingers. We want speed, skills and tries. Odwa’s hands let him down too.

  • @Orlok Tsubodai (Comment 12) : Of course Odwa is playing fullback tomorrow and safe is not a bad characteristic for a fullback  …but I get your point and it does have merit…

  • @vanmartin (Comment 9) : the thing is the Sharks have exciting youngsters in the team but you can’t have only youngsters there needs to be some experienced players to help them and for that older players like Odwa and Joe is perfect!!!!
I really don’t get the anti-Odwa sentiment as he’s a solid and reliable player that still delivers game after game!!!! Yes he’s not young and super fast but let me tell you he’s fit and in shape and not as slow as some of these people think!!!!

  • I have been saying Odwa is too old for two years. Now it’s just crazy. But I’ll still take him over SP. Personally u would like to see Radebe at 10 and Joe at 15.

  • @sharks_lover (Comment 21) : I agree. Someone made a very good point that we are overrating some players Odwa earned his spot and until someone puts in the work and outplays him for his position he is the best pick for the day.

  • Biggest problem currently is getting good front foot from our forwards. If that improves and we still don’t make a difference we can start looking at problem areas in back row. For now the coach has plugged the most obvious hole, nr 10.
