  • So the official SuperRugby team of the weak doesn’t have a single Sharks player in it.
Not only that, it has only had one Sharks player the whole season, and that was Mvovo in week one (after the game where Odwa scored two tries).

    Incompetence or bias?

  • Some times I feel like the only professionals in the ‘professional era’ of rugby, are the players.

Commentators, pundits, jurnos, ‘analysts’, refs, SANZAAAAAAR….. Are any of them unbiased, unselfish and professional?

  • @Seth101 (Comment 1) : Probably a healthy mix of both. Don’t lose sleep over it, some of the SA Super Rugby teams of the week put out by local sites are just as laughable and I think they actually watch the games.

  • @Seth101 (Comment 1) : saw that too. TBH I don’t care for player ratings that much anymore, but one positive I can take from no stand out sharks players is that it’s hard to stand out when everyone is putting in so much work.

  • @JD (Comment 12) : I assume that the jerseys handed out are after the team video session…and there is nowhere to hide in those sessions, everything is exposed. So i cant see any players having a problem with the awards. Just interesting to note that not much was made of the DuPreez boys making the side with dad as coach but seems in Lions country not all are thrilled with Ackermann picking his son to start…interesting

  • @SheldonK (Comment 14) : @gregkaos (Comment 18) : for sure it should create competition within the team as for the twins I really don’t think anyone in their right mind could complain about RdP snr picking them as they’re putting in the performances to show that they deserve to play there , as for Ackermann jnr I can’t comment as I’ve never seen him play. Also RdP snr is not the head coach like Ackers.

65 CONVERSION BARRETT. Beauden Barrett makes no mistake with the kick at goal.
64 TRY PERENARA. The Hurricanes make the break. They keep the ball alive close to the line and TJ Perenara stretches to score the try.

Instead, Owen Nkumane and Butch James are doing the Sharks, Pierce and James are doing the Stormers and Nkumane ans Venter are doing the Lions.

Have Skinstad and Cowley been sanctioned for their ridiculously partial commentary last weekend?

  • Why go to the expense of flying James down to CT when Skinstad and Cowley (and the other musketeer of the tainted trio, Shimange) are already down there?

Could be a really simple explanation. But it smells a little snoeky. I hope Supersport has taken some sort of action. We need more partiality and competence (appreciation of the laws) from our commentators.

  • @Salmonoid the Subtle (Comment 82) : like I said I don’t know anything about it and was just giving you another possible scenario. Personally Ackers does not look like the type of guy that would play his son if he does not belong there but hey I could be wrong.

  • @SheldonK (Comment 90) : would have been 3 from 3 with 2 margin points if the last kick was over!
