  • Check-list for referee and assistants in the lions vs saders game: 1.look at how the saders scrum 2.look that the saders don’t jump across the line in the line-out 3.look at the saders not playing lions players around the neck at the breakdown 4.striking a player in the face is a red card.if this is correctly officiated, then imo the lions style of play will totally blow them off the park in jhb.

  • Maybe if you put a full length mirror at the opposition poles you would get a better player out of Pierre.

  • @50shadesofshark (Comment 79) : Skinstad only played with a single number on his jersey but as I can remember he was mostly standing between the guys with the double numbers so basically he was a back line player that just joined the forwards for scrums and maybe a few lineouts! ;-P

It is a bit embarrassing that an ‘average’ NZ side comes to SA and beats two of our top sides fairly convincingly despite the narrow margins.

  • Great game. Lovely to see a SA team play this way, although in the end they were beaten by a smarter and better team. The Lions need to find a little more balance to their play.

But on tonight’s evidence I reckon the Lions will be overwhelming favourites to beat the Sharks next weekend.

  • awesome game

Lions need to find a better balance in game plan, their still the best sa team by far

stormers and sharks are fighting for second at the moment, at the end of the season it will be clearer whose better

    Saders are just class

we need to get marx and aker in the bok mix, i wonder if they will stick to bissy even though his in france, I figure the bok coach, and strauss is definitely in cause his he was behind bissy and his still very good and his still in sa

he was aker took the ball up for his second try, he didnt run into the player in front of him, he ran into space

lions may have come up short but they showed that they have the best coaches in sa

another thing that was impressive is how even though they didnt kick out of their 22 enough, it was cool too see many players kick and kick to a certain degree of accuracy, and far too. Coatzee, combrink and even skosan can kick it miles, jantjies too

only faf (who for me is the best scrummie in sa) kicked one box kick that set up a saders try, otherwise he had a ok game, bad pass too set up the intercept too

I got this game incorrect on superbru, but it was fun to watch

wish the lions hadnt gotten that losing bonus point though

when are we going to give the ball to guys with big boots like mvovo and esterhuizen or jpp, instead of joe all the time. Mix it up !!

  • Jags/Argentina play a very good style of rugby , if they work on a few things in their game they wil surpass the AB’s in their #1 spot . They actually counter the AB’s perfectly because the AB’s like to outplay their opponents by playing a fast unstructured game that other teams don’t like (boks,England…ect) however the Argentines LOVE playing a fast and loose high risk game . Something that the AB’s don’t expect.

  • Auckland gets very humid at this time of year. In fact the commentator has just mentioned how humid it is as the Blues hooker wipes the ball with a towel before a lineout. You would never have said so with the near flawless handling from both teams in this match.

Humid schmumid bollocks I say to the Sharks. Singapore, Brisbane and Auckland get just as humid and it’s never a big whiny deal there.

But if he’s going to go around demanding we call the Jaguars ‘Los Hug-u-ah-rez’ then I’d expect some consistency from him and at least expect to hear him asking for Tony Johnson to call the Bulls ‘ die Blou Bulle’ in his commentary. :-)
