Great comeback by u19 but a little dissapointed with u21 loss.

So far it looks like coaching stuff and players are complimenting each other well. Is our defence starting to slip? How did we allow these guys so many points?

  • Glad for the win, but this is a misleading score. Against decent opposition these mistakes and poor handling would have been costly. Also defensively we are not where we were 2 months ago. Glad our forwards are getting better even after losing some key men. Always glad to see Keegan in our lineup he is a true shark and great player. Deysel is on his way back to being the machine we remember, another true shark.

  • @coolfusion (Comment 96) : Test is coming up against Bulls and Lions. Defence since SR break has been really concerning and the PJ loss looks key. Who is running the def alignment? Lets remember Am was with Kings. Knowing how RdP planned prev teams, I am sure he will get that worked on asap.

If the guys continue to have fun and improve, I will be very happy.

  • I am so impressed with the maturity and growth shown by Andre Esterhuizen over the last year or so. Credit to him and the coaches. Gone is that impulsive teenager who tried too hard to impose himself on the game with illegal and late tackles, when last did we see Andre offending in this regard. his hands have come along nicely and he has developed a nice all round game. Also pleased to see the Sharks coaches are making use of his big boot.

Give him another year or two and if he carries on progressing like he has he will be knocking on the Bok door.

  • @jonnow (Comment 98) : I agree, I am extremely pleased with his slow and steady progress. When progress is made in this manner, the improvements become ingrained in the player. We see less regression and less plateaus in performance. I also expect to see him in Bok colours in a few years. In my opinion, he is already an improvement over de Allende. He runs just as hard, is as good or a better defender, and he has now added the offload and running lines into space to his repertoire which de Allende simply does not have.

  • @Quintin (Comment 110) : Its very seldom that guys continually have great games week in and week out for a lengthy period so whilst i am glad he is continually improving, im more interested to see how he copes when he isnt having a good game…can he still just do the basics and can he bounce back the next game. Doing that will show how mature he really is.
