  • @SeanJeff (Comment 44) : We scrummed them backwards 3 times that everything disintegrated and still no penalties for us. Rasta was kak, but when we had momentum, we didn’t use our advantage. Let’s face it, the boys do not have bmt, when it is a crunch game, we revert to the kick and hope for the best bullshit

  • @jdolivier (Comment 46) : Bosch is gaining experience at this level. Yes his positional play is not 100% but he had a good game and scored 17 points. Inny was bad today but will also hopefully learn from this. I think this performance might open the door for April. I am disappointed with Sithole as I rate him highly but once again did not make use of his opportunity. Look at effort the WP centres put in especially EW Viljoen. These guys are third or 4th choice but used their opportunity and put in a good performance.

  • @sudhir (Comment 54) : Also rate Sithole, he didn’t have the best game ball in hand. He did make 20m in 3 runs breaking 4 tackles. Our support play let us down tonight. 3 clean breaks and no one to pass too. Put odwa at 15 and let Bosch gain confidence on the wing, he has some pace to burn. Move Sithole ball k to outside center and play Am on the other wing. We’ve got nothing to lose by trying new positional changes with the current squad. Let April and Smith loose for 25 minutes with simple instructions: run it hard

  • @jdolivier (Comment 57) : I think the Odwa @ 15 experiment failed. Leave Bosch there. Put Smith on the Left and Maritz/Odwa on the right. If Am is carrying an injury rest him. But Williams and Claasens need to be dropped. Promote the U21 players to the senior side. Surely they can’t be worse than these 2.

  • I didn’t watch the match, so can’t comment on the Rasta performance. That said, 5 tries to 2 is quite comprehensive. Robert missed some kicks at goal which could have made the score difference bigger. Sharks still take home a losing BP.

Next game against the Cheetahs is going to be a humdinger. Will be a good test of the Cheetahs pack.

  • I don’t think rasta cost us the game,he made some shady calls but that’s life. Defence cost us big time! Since currie cup started its been way to easy to score against us,if a team is in our 22 than 70% chance they gonna score a try especially if its still first half. Also we lacked support runners,we made nice breaks and support runners were no where but I’m sure that will improve if we carry on with this game plan.

  • The things that cost the Sharks this game were the high penalty count most of them silly penalities so cant blame Rasta, also our defensive pattern has a weakness in that nobody is running the covering line behind our rush defensive line. Our scrummy is in channel 1, our flyhalf on the wing. There is a huge amount of space in behind our line that nobody is covering and we cant expect the fullback to cover that. Rob DuPreez Jnr was on fire and was the main difference…that together with some good bounces of the ball. There was also some very good play form the Sharks…nice to see us keep the ball for much longer periods. I dont mind the loss to a better team on the day…now lets see what this team is made of and how they come back the next game?

This WP player told me after I whatsapped him to congratulate him on the win…..anyway, I will keep any info to myself as you clearly have issues with me. I simply tried to make the Sharks fans feel a little less hurt after what was a very close game with some good news, given that Kotze played quite well imho…..last post given your attitude Rob ….you can remove me as a poster …

  • I would just like to add my 2 cents to this debate.
I post here of my own free will, and generally say what I want to say.
I like the fact that this site is semi regulated,it keeps it free of the ugly South African face of racism, homophobia and sexism.
Superbru when it first started was a wonderful site, but it was destroyed by the ugly face of this country’s rugby supporters.
For its first year it was a site with about 60rugby loving posters from U.K,N.Z.,AUS and S.A.
It was then over run by South Africans who insisted on posting in Afrikaans.
We lost the Internationals and finally Superbru closed the main board and reverted to pools.
Keo was destroyed,by the very same people,it was assisted by the megalomaniac coke head who ran it.
I enjoy coming here,I am not and never have been out to win a popularity contest.
I appreciate the forum I am given here and the rules that allow it to function.
I also appreciate that the man running this site does it at great personal expense,
Its a no brainer in my opinion,if you do not like the rules here,no body is stopping you from pissing off.
If you stay here obey the rules, and stop abusing old people.

  • @coolfusion (Comment 108) : I’ll admit that I should have replied to Grant with perhaps a little less sarcasm and perhaps I would have had I not seen exactly the same rumour being touted as fact on my Twitter timeline about 30 minutes before his post. Grant has a bit of a habit of disappearing for months on end, only to pop up here with some or other juicy scoop that is generally either false, or already very much in the public knowledge. Call me a prima donna, if you like, but I’ve never claimed to be the “source of all knowledge” or whatever and I always double check everything before I repeat it.

The right way to handle “scoops” is to contact me and let me know about it. We can discuss it, I can try to verify it and if it has legs, then we can say something about it. There is so much random, unsubstantiated shit being written all over rugby websites that I don’t think it’s unreasonable for us to have higher standards here. I think most readers appreciate it.

Some even help contribute to the running costs of the site as a way of showing their appreciation. I take insults from them a little more seriously.
