Whilst being one of many voices calling for John Plumtree to be fired I have been thinking a lot about what Plum has done for the Sharks. Let’s take a look at exactly what Plum has done for our beloved Sharks: [...]

The enigma that is Plum
Sweating the small stuff
This past weekend’s Rugby produced some very disappointing results for South African teams, all but the Kings lost to their Australasian opponents. The fact is there are a multitude of reasons for these results ranging from travel fatigue to injuries, but to me the most frustrating reason (more like a recurrent theme) is our inability to score with the ease that our off shore opponents do. If it were a competition to see who could work the hardest for their points I’m sure the log would look much different. [...]
Loose forwards for dummies
After watching the games this past weekend I had to abandon my thoughts of writing anything about the matches and set about pondering one of the debates that always get quite heated. [...]
Last Exit to Bronkhorstspruit Vol 2: I’m a Lebowski, Are You a Lebowski?
In the hierarchy of the arts, film is at the bottom of the food chain. If you don’t believe me, consider the muses of Greek mythology. The daughters of the gods, they were the source of inspiration for all arts. Of the nine muses, Calliope and Clio were concerned with the written word, Erato, Euterpe and Polyhymnia with music, Melpomene, Terpsichore and Thalia the performing arts, and Urania with astronomy (which was considered an art at the time; them Greeks sure are crazy!). Eating humble pie
In South Africa we are a brutal bunch. Baying for blood at the first sign of weakness. [...]
To the manor born
Not so long ago I heard a knock on my door, and on answering, found to my surprise a coat-tailed man-servant with a rather mud-splattered but still elegant letter for me. Before I could question this strange personage further, he had touched his forelock, leapt onto his matt-black, brass-adorned coach, and giddy-upped his horses into a fair trot down the road. [...]
Select your British & Irish Lions 22 for the Tests
The time is drawing near and everyone is giving it their all in the 6 Nations in order to be on the plane to Australia. There will be a few surprises and disappointments as there are every 4 years. [...]
Six Nations: Team of the Week Round Three
Week three of the Six Nations saw wins for Wales, England and Scotland. Italy, missing Sergio Parisse, struggled to make an impact in Rome as the Welsh dominated from the off. Meanwhile in London, Chris Robshaw’s England defeated a resurgent French side, who only had themselves to blame for their second half deterioration. Ireland will be rueing missed opportunities after dominating large parts of their match, only to be denied by the ruthless Scots. Here is a look at the top performers from Round Three: [...]
Six Nations: Team of the Week Round Two
The second weekend of the Six Nations saw both Scotland and Wales record their first victories of the tournament. Wales’ gritty win was especially impressive for the strength of character it showed given their previous poor run of eight straight defeats. The cool headed Leigh Halfpenny slotted eleven points to put his side’s title ambitions back on track. In Dublin, it was the cool head of Owen Farrell that left England with the only 100% record in the championship – his twelve points were enough to see off the Irish. Here is a look at the star performers from all the action: [...]
An urban ode to the Sharks
This one courtesy of our man Poisy, urban poet and Sharks fan of note! [...]
Looking for the right preseason magic
Soon we will see the Sharks take on the Leopards and the Pumas in pre-season friendlies. Now it’s probably reasonably safe to assume that John Plumtree will play his second string players against the men from Potch, and the big boys against the Pumas. For obvious reasons I am really looking forward to the Pumas match as I will be there to witness and report on what went on in the game. [...]
We are young so let’s set the field on fire
Last year we all saw a lot of young players introduced to Super Rugby, either due to injury of other players or just because they are pure class. Some of them even went on to represent our nation’s pride by earning some Springbok caps. They have grown not just in size but also in stature, and this year they can really light up the Super Rugby stage! [...]
Fantasy League?
Plans to expand Super 15 in 2016 when the current broadcasting contract comes to an end might be on the cards and SANZAR is weighing up their options whether to take Super Rugby global. [...]
Breakthrough season for who?
With 2013 now getting into the swing of things, it would be worth to have a look at which players could and should come into the Bok selection frame this year. [...]
Who should we have seen more of?
The Super season is yet to kick off so this is a fun opinion piece, just to wake everyone up a bit. [...]
