Super Rugby team of the Week: Week 14
Another grueling week of Super Rugby with a couple of surprising results has just passed and with only 6 weeks of rugby to go it would seem that anyone finding themselves in the bottom half of log has left themselves just too much to do to stay in contention for a playoff spot. You never know with the top 8 teams being very competitive this year, any team down to the Stormers on 30 log points, 11 log points behind the 6th placed Blues, could still sneak in if they managed to hit a purple patch in these final weeks. One month count down…
It is exactly one month until the Springboks face England at Mr Price Kings Park in the first of three test matches, which is also coach Heyneke Meyer’s first series in charge of the Green and Gold. As expected, the Super Rugby season has taken its toll on players all over the country, and the decisions are becoming difficult as Meyer has to decide not only on his strongest available 22 man squad, but also a leader. [...]
The root of all evil
The Sharks loss this weekend has left the supporters scratching their heads, for more than just one reason. The Sharks are yet to hit full tilt during this Currie Cup so far and are looking far off the team we saw glimpses of during the Super Rugby season, and even further off the Currie Cup winning team we saw in action this time last year.
