The BBC reports that Brent Russel was again looking dangerous over the weekend where his new club Saracens beat struggling Worcester in the English Premiership.
Saracens’ Brent Russell was a constant threat
Saracens (6) 19
Tries: F Ongaro
Cons: Jackson
Pens: Jackson 4
Worcester (3) 6
Pens: L Crichton
Drop goal: L Crichton
Saracens overcame struggling Worcester thanks to a Fabio Ongaro try and the kicking of Glen Jackson.
The home side were below their best but still had too much strength for Worcester who remain in the bottom two in the Premiership league table.
The only try came after a drive to the line was held up short and Ongaro took advantage of an overlap to go over.
Jackson contributed 14 points from the boot, while Worcester scored only through the kicks of Loki Crichton.

Saracens director of rugby Alan Gaffney:
“We came here expecting a hard game and that’s not a trite statement.
“We’ve battled against Worcester for two seasons and not too many sides put them away comfortably.
“We came back from a week’s break and were a bit sloppy in training, and took that on to the pitch. But after the break we played the way we wanted to.”
Worcester director of rugby Mike Ruddock:
“The best team won but I don’t think Saracens played to the level they are capable of either.
“We didn’t play to our potential, but we’ll dust ourselves down and get ourselves right for next week.
“We slipped back into old ways with basic mistakes letting us down. Things that were haunting us earlier in the season re-emerged.”

were you at the game, Cenzo?
Seeing though this is Sharksworld, let’s not forget Thinus Delport at 15 for Worcester. Seems to be in favour with the new(ish) Worcester coach Mike Ruddock after being benched for most of last season. He’s playing well, is amongst top 10 in the Opta league stats for metres gained, succesful offloads, carries, clean breaks (1st!), defenders beaten even though Worcester is languishing in 11th place. Seems as thpough Shane Drahm has had a hissy fit as we the one dropped for Delport – now he’s buggering off to Japan!
Worcester confuse me 0- they lood good on paper, have an establish highly regarded coach yet have only racked up 1 win out of 12 games!
So both teams had a Sharks fullback 😉
Quinny – do you feel like slapping something together with a bit of info on the sharks boys abroad and how they’re doing?
Or maybe a few words on a select few players?
Sure, let me see what I can do, Vinnie. Prob won’t be able to do today, but I can try rustle it up over the next day or so.
Yeah no worries Quinny and thanks so much!
Just a few words on some select players – we could always update the article with some of the user comments if we’ve missed out anybody.
That is a beautiful idea.
Seeing though this is Sharksworld”
Is that Greig Rawlinson in the Worcester line-up?
Indeed Bryce it is. Plus Rico Gear & Sam Tuitupou (Blues centre & ex-Auckland captain)
That’s an awesome squad on paper…
Sounds like the Cats…
Been watching Brent play and have really enjoyed seeing him on the field for a full game again. At least he has a chance to get involved in the game and score some tries. Go Brent!!!
