Once again we did a very quick poll to see what some of the contributors here at Sharksworld thought would happen this weekend. Perhaps these might help you with your own picks, if you haven’t already made them. Perhaps not!
Game 8: Hurricanes v Reds
robdylan: Hurricanes by 7
PJLD: Reds by 12
Sauce: Hurricanes by 10
hellbent: Hurricanes by 10
Most of the smart money is on the home team by a reasonable margin. Only PJLD reckons the Ozmob can spring a surprise.
Game 9: Cheetahs vs Force
robdylan: Cheetahs by 9
PJLD: Force by 21
Sauce: Cheetahs by 7
hellbent: Force by 3
A nice split here. PJLD is very confident that the indisciplined 40-minute Cheetahs are going to get a hiding here. Sauce and I reckon that the Force side contains a second-string tight five and that the Cheetahs fatties are going to roll right over them. Grom saam!
Game 10: Bulls vs Crusaders
robdylan: Crusaders by 12
PJLD: Crusaders by 18
Sauce: Bulls by 7
hellbent: Crusaders by 18
Sauce fancies the Bulls to upset the 6-time champs, but based on the teams that take the park, the rest of us give the Blou Masjien no chance.
Game 11: Chiefs vs Waratahs
robdylan: Chiefs by 7
PJLD: Waratahs by 12
Sauce: Chiefs by 4
hellbent: Chiefs by 5
The smart (or is that majority) money seems to be on the home side by a small margin. They were woeful against the Blues, though and the Tahs beat the Canes with room to spare. Could Clayton be on to something?
Game 12: Brumbies vs Highlanders
robdylan: Highlanders by 9
PJLD: Brumbies by 6
Sauce: Brumbies by 7
hellbent: Brumbies by 15
Why am I the only one who thinks the Brumbies will struggle to beat anyone this season? Consensus seems to be against me this time. Let’s see who’s right.
Game 13: Sharks vs Stormers
robdylan: Sharks by 10
PJLD: Sharks by 3
Sauce: Sharks by 7
hellbent: Sharks by 7
Admin: Stormers by 1078
Sharks by a small-ish margin seems to be the consensus here. You gotta believe it if even the Stormers faithful are calling it that way. Well, except for the lunatic goat.
Game 14: Lions vs Blues
robdylan: Blues by 9
PJLD: Blues by 15
Sauce: Lions by 7
hellbent: Blues by 10
Sauce is confident that Loffie’s pride can pull of a second consecutive unlikely result. The rest of us reckon it’ll be a blue Saturday evening at Ellis Park.
So that’s it, team… go get your picks in before the deadline. We’ll dissect and analyse who’s where in the standing after the weekend.

I’m going for a clean sweep this round, with the associated BONZA point
here are my calls.
Better late than never. 😉
Game 8: Hurricanes v Reds: Hurricanes by 8
Game 9: Cheetahs v Force: Force by 13
Game 10: Bulls v Crusaders: Crusaders by 12
Game 11: Chiefs v Waratahs: Waratahs by 15
Game 12: Brumbies v Highlanders: Brumbies by 5
Game 13: Sharks v Stormers: Sharks by 10
Game 14: Lions v Blues: Blues by 16
I can’t understand picking the Brumbies …
that game will be 0 – 0 so i am giving it to the home team 🙂
he he. Sounds like the first game I ever played at Boys High…
🙂
4 away wins out of 7 for me.
could be 5
I have given the Hurricanes the BOTD.
Just realised I’ve predicted a New Zealand grand slam…
🙂 could well happen
Sauce and I reckon that the Force side contains a second-string tight five and that the Cheetahs fatties are going to roll right over them.
As the guys mentioned on Boots and All this evening, the days of fatties are over. the REASON the Cheetahs only last 40mins is because of the pace under the ELV’s.
Don’t expect the Force to be opting for scrums at the FK’s. They are going to run these guys ragged.
Cheetahs can do a bit of running themselves…
only for 40minutes though 😉
true 😉
What’s Fish doing online at this time of night?
I’ll do this as an exercise to see if I am right.
Here is the existing top 4. (the correct one taking the required criteria into account)
1)Crusaders
2)Blues
3)Waratahs
4)Sharks
I think they will be in the same positions after this weekend even though three of them are playing away from home.
posting an article it seems 😉
ok – let’s see if you’re right…
Not sure how good the Tahs are
yes – gathered as much.
It’s actually relevant to our current discussion as well!
Worth noting, i am running a trial this year by only picking the home sides, and allowing one turn around for a visiting team allowed per week.
You chose all home wins this week Sauce?
Or are your SB picks different?
KSA – no those are my SB picks, all home picks, but if i need i have the option to pick one visiting team for a win i can – i was just thinking of the stormers tour 😉 with that choice !
