Frans Ludeke has received a vote of confidence from Bulls president Boet Fick. You all know what that means. Expect Ludeke to be gone halfway through the season if the current run of results continues.
Here are some of the things that Fick said on Monday, as reported in the Pretoria News:
“I want you to know Frans that we are fully behind you.
“We support you and will continue to do so. There is no ‘us’ and ‘them’, the union and the company are one and we believe in you as our coach. It is at times like these when we must pull together.
“There is no reason to be pushing panic buttons.
“There is no crisis. We have won one game and lost another and we just need to take lessons from the loss. ”
We’ve seen this sort of thing before. Remember, Kevin Putt received a similar vote of confidence from the Brian van Zyl and co a week before he was sent packing.
Let’s watch and see what develops.

Im just glad that he is there while we are playing them! π
Pretorians buffoons.
Fancy they have already thought to contact Heyneke Meyer to replace Frans Ludeke. π―
Classic arti robbie.
And so true in the South African context.
I give him until the end of his first tour in the antipodes.
you think he’ll make the tour?
Keohane has the knives out already…
I’d say he’s ripe to go but just cannot see the BBRU getting their shit together in time.
why did they appoint him in the first place, is the question
Ludeke was appointed by Blou Bulle for they did not know whether Heyneke would be named or not the Bok coach.
Now that he is not required any more for the Boks, all administrators in Pretoria rugby wants him back. Just a couple of losses and Heyneke is back. For sure
I thought that Heyneke was done with rugby…?
robdylan
…he was done?
Let’s wait to see the Broederbond to ask him to come back…
The mere fact that Fick mentions the
We are behind you
There is no crisis
etc. etc.
SHOWS that they have concerns.
You don’t see the Stormers who have a worse record than the Bulls saying that they are behind Rassie and that there is no crisis.
That’s because in CT there IS no crisis.
careful with that word, H.O…. it invites trouble π
KSA, there is none until the Saders give Rassie a 50-pointer as well π
I shouldn’t gloat. Saders will whack us by more than 50 in Little England the way we are playing currently.
ok robdylan
hence forward I shall abbreviate it as “B” ok?
to avoid troubles π
This must be some sort of record – 10 days and 2 games into the competition and a union finds it necessary to inform the world that all is well with them and their coach.
I presume that mr Fick was instrumental in appointing FL and is himself under some pressure for tghe enlightened choice.
I know someone who has worked with Boet Fick… π
eventhough ludeke wouldn’t be in my book of top coaches, you have to feel sorry for him, he was given a sinking ship. makes you wonder if heynecke meyer was greek, cos they jump before the ship sinks.
oh before i get greeks calling me a turk, the joke stems from the oceanis where the greek captain fled before his passengers in one of the few lifeboats on board.
agree TT, as for the bulls vote of confidence that means nothing, if bakkies dont turn that team around, am afraid robd is right, expect marching orders.
TT – you don’t have a politically correct bone in your body, do you? π
Bakkies is good, but a one-man army he ain’t.
Bulls need him and Spies and Habana back and then MAYBE they’ll start to look a half-decent team.
yip, agree. sharks too edge, but bakkies will make a massive difference.
let’s just hope Bissie plays.
rob i am very diplomatic…not. i tend to say it as i see it. and then deal with the egg on my face later.
rob i don’t think bissy not playing will make a difference. i think burden can hold his own against kuun. the area where we can take the game from the bulls is the backline. hopefully they don’t let the forwards down again.
i think the blessing in disguise is ruan being injured. i think the guy is an excellent player don’t get me wrong, but he isn’t a scrumhalf anymore. the new rules have changed the role of the scrummie. gone are the days of big scrummies like joost, fourie du preez and ruan. rory and heinie are going to feature a lot more as they get to the ball faster and get it away before the loosies can kill it. ruan is a full back or flyhalf.
TT – my daughter says to tell you she has always wanted to see Ruan at Flyhalf!
