The Bulls have named their team to take on the Sharks on Friday and as predicted, Derick Hougaard has got the chop.
In a powerful-looking pack, Bakkies Botha comes straight into the number 4 jersey to partner young Wilheml Steenkamp in the second row.Β It’s a move that makes sense, as Bakkies adds a hard edge that will be difficult to counter for the Sharks. Danie Rossouw has moved to openside flank and one wonders if the Bulls haven’t missed a trick here. Rossouw certainly isn’t the sort of player I would pick to play 6 under the ELV’s, but only time will tell. Certainly, one can anticipate that the plan is to really put the squeeze on the Sharks at the set pieces.
In the backline, there is a welcome return for Akona Ndungane at right wing, but one feels the Bulls have dropped the wrong guy to make way for him. Poor John Mametsa finds himself benched with the frankly underwhelming Danwel Demas picked to start in Habana’s 11 jumper.
Derick Hougaard and Morne Steyn swap jerseys, with the latter starting the game in the vital pivot position.
Bulls team:
15 Zane Kirchner, 14 Akona Ndungane, 13 JP Nel, 12 Wynand Olivier, 11 Danwel Demas, 10 MornΓ© Steyn, 9 Fourie du Preez (capt), 8 Pedrie Wannenburg, 7 Wikus van Heerden, 6 Danie Rossouw, 5 Wilhelm Steenkamp, 4 Bakkies Botha, 3 Rayno Gerber, 2 Derick KuΓΌn, 1 GurthrΓΆ Steenkamp
16 James van der Walt, 17 Werner Kruger, 18 Jaco Engels, 19 Deon Stegmann, 20 Heini Adams, 21 Derick Hougaard, 22 John Mametsa.

Toast. They’ve got the loose trio wrong.
Unless Wikus plays out of his skin the whole game, they are toast.
Nooooo!
π³
Hougaard on the Bench…..
Seems Vata Ngobeni got it right.
That is still a good loose trio.
Steyn is mentally fragile. Remember a few years ago at loftus when he kakked himself and dropped the ball in his in-goal area with Grant Rees lumbering down towards him? Easiest try Rees has ever scored.
They had the opportunity to outthink us here… AJ is not quick enough under these laws – now they have nullified that advantage by dropping Stegmann and picking PK (who I think is even slower than AJ) in his place. With Kanko and Botes, we win the race hands down. Now if only WE play it smart and pick Al at 7, we’re laughing.
“MornΓ© gets game time because of our squad system and I am fully confident in his abilities. It is not the norm that one flyhalf plays all the games in the Super 14 and this is a good opportunity to give him a chance.” – Ludicrous
Yeah, he needs to be rested, old Derick, after all of 2 rounds ? Come on, pull the other one.
Why don’t they recall Naas Botha, Thys Lourens, Mof Myburgh and Frik du Preez to strengthen their poor XV beaten and bruised? π π π―
is anyone still listening to him?
I wonder if he’s cleared his office yet…
H.O. I think those gents were among the throng leaving Loftus 10 minutes into the second half last week, muttering under their breath “Ek gaan NOOIT weer hierdie donnerse plek besoek!”
Easiest try Rees has ever scored.

Probably the only try Rees ever scored for the Sharks π
Diod somebody say “carthorse?”
naaaaaaaaay! Not me.
Hrrrrmphhh
What do you put on your next coaching application after two super rugby franchises let you coach their teams and you fucked it up twice π―
Two time loser ready to try again β
I think he wrote that part in English, so they didn’t read it π
Eish
I wonder who is worse, Chester or Ludicrous?

“He opted for MornΓ© Steyn ahead of Derick Hougaard at flyhalf and said that the Bulls are very privilege to have two world class No.10s in their ranks.” taken from 365

there has never been a more ridiculous thing said, unless i said it. well i needed some comic relief.
bwahahahahahaha
World Class?
Is Ludeke on tik or something? π π
Steyn has had few opportunities of late… he has put in some very solid performances in the past…
Having Bakkies back certainly shapes that pack again… if they could just replace the Kak Demass and Meisiekind they’d be doing well…
And boy is Demas hond-kak!
