The teams for the crunch Vodacom match between the Lions and Western Province at Ellis Park this weekend have been announced.
Isma-eel Dollie and Francois van der Merwe have both been released by the Stormers selectors for the Crusaders game, and therefore start for the WP side. WP have a formidable look about them, fresh after their 51-7 defeat of the Griffons last weekend and with Wylie Human, Justin Melck, David Hendricks, Francois van der Merwe and captain Hanyani Shimange all having Super 14 experience.
The Lions lost 36-42 to the Cheetahs in their first game, and have made several changes to that line-up. The most notable changes are experienced flanker Roland Bernard dropping out through injury, former EP pivot Michael Killian dropping to the bench with Arno Coetzee taking over the 10 jumper, Alten Hulme starting at lock in place of Willem Scholtz, and Walter Venter replacing the highly regarded Thabang Molefe at inside centre.

Three years back, Monnas had a fantastic schoolboy team, ending unbeaten in SA. Think there is a few of them in the Valie team trying to break through to the big time. Should be a good match.

Luke Titus’ parents left during the 80’s. They are from the Cape Flats.
They might be related to Oom Tobie.

yeah can’t find any info on him playing ARU, so I guess it must have been lower leagues as wes says… I’m also grasping straws & guessing that he IS related to Tobie Titus, hence his signing on the basis of zippo union experience. Yes I know he’s supposed to be talented. BUT doesn’t the eau de nepotism flow through the corridors of most SA rugby unions 😉 ?
