  • I know – I always go with my heart and not my head and I would rather the reds win but I know the Bulls will – they are playing with a strong team today.

Hoping JP Nel does something supid again – because his punishment there will be a lot more severe than it has been here.

The lineout is solid and the Reds don’t penetrate but then a terrible tackle by Rossouw and Latham is through a gaping hole in the Bulls backline and he’s over, score 8-3. Schifcofske converts the try, score 10-3.

Hougaard restarts and they get a scrum just outside the Reds 22m. The forwards for the Bulls take it up in typical Bulls fashion but just like the 1st half the Bulls work at the breakdown is poor, Reds freekick.Latham kicks deep and both teams kick and the Reds end up getting a freekick on the 50m.

The drop out is collected by the Reds and they run it back and a little chip through and Habana has a mare at the back (Ndungane thought Habana had it covered) as he lets the ball go and Schifcofske touches down for another try, score 25-8.The conversion is missed.

    56
The Bulls really need to pull their socks up. They do some great work off the kick off and du Preez just loses the ball on the tryline. Reds scrum and Latham puts the ball out on his 22m. The Bulls win a penalty and find touch 5m out. The lineout is solid but they knock the ball on, Reds scrum

    61
The Bull kick it out and they win their lineout ball but then lose possession again and Latham kicks a beauty. Habana looking to redeem himself runs back from deep but to no avail as the Reds defence scrambles to cover the Bulls, the end result is a Reds scrum in their 22m.

    64
The Reds scrum is under some pressure but du Preez knocks on and the Reds have a scrum again and Cooper does well to put the ball out on his 10m.

The lineout is solid and the Bulls give away a free kick and Cordingley opts for a scrum. Then the Reds destroy the Bulls pack… amazing and they get a penalty. Latham puts it out 5m from the Bulls line.

  • Naas Botha is not impressed..he has just said Habana is not even 1/10th of the player he was … Brosnihan tried to defend him, saying maybe he was still feeling his houlder injury & Naas shot him down saying that he should not be palying, if that was the case 😆

  • The Bulls site had this thread up today.

The Vodacom Bulls will be looking to pick up five points when they take on the Reds on Saturday in Brisbane in order to move to the top half of the Super 14 log.

To which one of their posters posted after the match.

Het iemand vergeet om vir hulle te se dis 5 “log” punte wat hulle moes aanteken, en nie net 5 punte nie?

    😆 😆 😆

  • A Reds win is not good for the Sharks either…increases their confidence for their SA tour, they could well beat the Lions next week and have their tails up for their Sharks match the following week.

  • DP, nope, it is my belief that the Bulls are all that is bad about South African rugby. Thugby, indiscipline and arrogance. They have been shown up all season and their wins have come because the oppo couldn’t play them at their own game. A kak side like the Reds showed how easy it is to beat the Bulls, keep the ball alive and moving and the Bulls can’t keep up.

I hate to support an overseas side against an SA one, but in this case, a Reds win does not affect the Sharks’ position, and thus I am thrilled.

    I am not a Bulls-lover…

  • DP, it’s about the Sharks coming to the party. We will have (and had) tougher games than the Reds, so if we lose, that’s bad.

Ja I agree that Meyer departute has pushed the Bulls well back into Dino-rugby but their are alot of Boks in that team, so demotivating a Super 14 combined with a new untested Bok coach, doesn’t bode well for the Bok this year.

Exactly, the Sharks have enough hard matches on the road, not to have to worry about what should have been an easy home match…the Bulls haven’t done the Sharks any favours. It would have been far better for us if the Bulls had have knocked the stuffing out of the Reds and put a good win over them to keep them demotivated.
