He was opposed by Mike Stofile, the only other nomination at the annual general meeting.

  • I agree, I think Stofile would have stirred things a bit. I don’t think he stood for VP, so he is out of the picture.

South Africa batsman Herschelle Gibbs spent Thursday night in jail after being arrested following a breath test.
Gibbs’s lawyer Peter Whelan told Reuters on Friday that the player had been stopped by police while driving in Cape Town the previous night.

“He was pulled over and breathalysed,” Whelan said. “The police have yet to tell me what charge he was arrested on.”

  • Hi Barend,
    Thank you for your email.
Butch has made excellent progress and our coaches hope that he will be fit enough to play next weekend against Leeds.. Of course he must pass all the fitness tests to do so, but in the meantime, look out for Butch on BRTV next Tuesday.
    Kind regards

  • best thing is stofile bows out. so that gets rid of a little dead wood. no-one will take his stupid rantings seriously anymore. now we only have to deal with his brother. best possible result, but still a long way to go.

  • Mad Mike – good riddance to bad rubbish. ๐Ÿ‘ฟ

Unfortunately he will probably be back as he still has political ambitions in rugby. But he will have to wait 2 years.

Interesting that at the same time it is announced that SARU will now back de Villiers demand to haver final say over team selection and will seek to change their constitution to do so.

I see this as one positive outcome of Hoskins victory. If Stofile had won the election this would never happen – and we would have the same situation happening in rugby that is now going on in cricket.
