Time for a bit of Wednesday afternoon fun.
We’re looking for your favourite players – and also your least favourite. To keep it simple, let’s stick with one forward and one back in each category. If you really can’t choose, give us a list of three.
We also want to know what it is about that player that you like or dislike so much.
I’ll start…
Favourite forward: Tough one here, but I’m going to have to go with Ryan Kankowski, because he’s just frikken awesome. Big, strong, fast and just plain amazing. Honourable mentions to Jacques Botes, Warren Britz and Wahl Bartmann, all of whom are guys I have admired hugely over the years.
Favourite back: Brad Barritt. Don’t ask me why, it’s a family thing! Runners up include Henry Honiball, Cabous van der Westhiuzen and James Small
Least favourite forward: Johan Wasermann. One of the dirtiest players of the modern era. Runners up include Danie Rossouw, Pedrie Wannenburg, Kees Lensing and Johan le Roux.
Least favourite back: Robbie Fleck. To me, he was always about ego at the expense of everything else. Played exactly one good game in all the time I watched him. I’ve never had a lot of time for Braam van Straaten, Louis Koen, JP Nel or Ryan Walker either.
Come on guys… let us have them.

Only names that spring to mind are Jorrie Muller and that other guy, from the Cheetah’s the winger, the sevens star, the glory boy, and by boy I REALLY mean boy, he looks like a kid. I can never remember his name. Can’t stand them, ones a poo player the others a poo.

Fav Forward: Keegan Daniel, exciting player! Skinstad (the original)
Fav Back: Jaco v/d Westhuyzen, ability to drop from ANYWHERE! Honourable mention – Honiball!
Least Fav Forward: Daniesaurus, cause he goes into contact with the arm carrying the ball. Most Bulls forwards.
Least Fav Back: Meisiekind Nel, Naas Botha, Joost v/d Westhuizen, Frans Verstaan – do I have to give a reason?
Marius Delport… not a fan.
Favourite Andre Joubert… just loved him!
I thought Ricky was great in “The Fellowship of the Ring”… he didn’t feature much in the subsequent movies, though.

Actually Honiball probably my favourite.
Was staying in the same welsh hotel as the boks and he got into the elevator. Tall bladdy flyhalf, looked taller than on TV, most self-effacing guy, but on the field few more committed players. i cant remember him ever missing a tackle or involved with dirty play.

Ice – although I have just got back from the short break with my sisters and my mom – we have booked to go away in 2 weeks’ time to Mozambique. Janine and Nev want to do some diving. I got Waz to do a quick dive course so that he can go with us. He is quite chuffed with himself. He did so well on the course. We have been going diving to Moz for a few years now but Waz has never been with us – really looking forward to that.
Ness – its been years since i did the “wet-suit wiggle”!! Would need a refresher course – but at this stage with the kiddies being small – i dont see it happening in the near future! 🙁
