It seems Matt Dunning will be ruled out of this weekend’s match between the Waratahs and the Stormers in Cape Town.
Dunning has come under fire in recent years for a lack of conditioning, as well as a perceived weakness at scrum time. The rotund front ranker has, however, hit back at his critics this season and has been doing a reasonable job for the Sydney team as a untility prop replacement.
“Doughnut” Dunning injured his calf against the Bulls last week and is unlikely to be passed fit for the do-or-die clash against the Stormers. The Cape team themselves look set to spring a surprise with the potential inclusion of former Free State and Sharks loosehead, Ollie le Roux. That is, assuming they can manage to lure him out from the Wimpy at Cavendish Centre for long enough to slap a plus-size blue jersey on him and point him in the general direction of Newlands .

Battle of the blubber. To bad it won’t happen. 🙂
I really don’t rate Dunning, but this DOES play into the Stormers’ hands.
