Well done KSA! Ok, now we have that out of the way, let’s have a look at the standings in our very own Sharksworld pool in the score prediction game over at www.superbru.com.
Game 71: Crusaders v Sharks
Well, alas it was not to be and although the Sharks delivered a far better all-round performance, they still went down in Christchurch. 18-10 was the final score, meaning the Crusaders won by 8. Most people were pretty close to this, with 14 margin points being dished out. Well done Villie, for getting the bonus by predicting Saders by 7.
Game 72: Reds v Blues
The Blues are on the comeback trail, but they probably started a week or two too late to still make the semis. They beat a fired-up Reds outfit 35-22, by 13 points. The Reds second-half fightback is becoming quite a trademark, though and one wonders if they can claim a big scalp in the next two weeks… Congrats to SandShark who got this one spot on.
Game 73: Cheetahs v Highlanders
I’m afraid I did it again. I backed the Cheetahs to win, so inevitably they lost. 31-28 was the final score, so the Tartan Mafia won by 3. Only three players in the entire pool picked this one correctly, and SeaShark was closest with his prediction of Highlanders by 5.
Game 74: Hurricanes v Lions
Not a terribly tough one to pick, here. The Lions again got thrashed, this time they lost 38-12, by 26 points. Sandshark was again the closest, although this time he had to share his bonus point with me. We both picked the Canes to win by 25 points.
Game 75: Force v Chiefs
Ah! The Force was strong, for a change and they pulled off an unlikely 1-point win over the Chiefs. This result was a great one for all the other teams chasing fourth spot, as the men from Hamilton were looking ominous. 22-21 was the final score Lylmik got the bonus for predicting the Force would win by 3.
Game 76: Bulls v Waratahs
Go the Bulls! A bit of wet weather and suddenly you can ignore the ELV’s and play to your strengths. It was close, it was low-scoring but the men from Loftus dug deep and did us all a huge favour by beating the Sydneysiders 16-13. Villie was again the closest, with his prediction of Bulls by 2. 2.5 points for you, sir!
Game 77: Stormers v Brumbies
And another good SA win to the Stormers. Well done, goats! They beat the Brumbies 20-10, by 10 points. Four tipsters had to share the bonus here, so it’s a quarter-point each for Nita, namboer, SeaShark and the_finman.
No GSP’s this round… a few too many upsets, I guess. Well done to SandShark, aka KSA for a storming round of 8.5 points that confirms him as our MVP. SauronShark got 8 and namboer 7.3.
The top three remains unchanged, but strong rounds from SauronShark and namboer have seen them move into the top five, at the expense of Dive Pass and Fatality.
Here is the complete top 10:
1 | Ghost10 | 85.42 |
2 | SinBinners | 73.44 |
3 | Kandas | 72.78 |
4 | SauronShark | 72.36 |
5 | namboer | 71.49 |
6 | Villie | 71.45 |
7 | Dive Pass | 71.40 |
8 | PaarlGimmie | 70.94 |
9 | Fatality | 68.33 |
10 | Sharkie | 67.19 |
Ghost10 is still the only Sharksworld contributor still in the top 10, while the rest of us are having our own private competition lower down the leaderboard! Here’s where the rest of us are:
12 | PissAnt | 66.83 | Up four and suddenly a very real contender for a top ten finish! Well done, Morné! |
17 | robdylan | 65.50 | Up one spot… should have backed the Bulls |
23 | Western Sauce | 62.03 | Up two more… he’s starting to hit form |
27 | Sandshark | 60.58 | Up four spots and finally out of the 30s. |
35 | PJLD | 51.88 | Sliding down again… not good, Slayton! |

WELL DONE KSA!!!

KSA
Ive been meaning to ask you about the Crusadersaders 2nd try on Saturday – the one that was given apparently scored by Wyatt Crockett.
When confirming the try the tv refs words were “number 17 had his arm on the ground – you may award the try” What is the significance of number 17 (Crocket??) having his arm on the ground in awarding the try?
Salmo. Not sure at all. need to go and see if i can find a clip of it somwehere.
Will be interested if you can fathom it out , or if I have not been hearing properley.
