Springbok flanker Kabamba Floors has openly admitted that he wants a move to the Stormers when his contract with the Cheetahs ends at the end of October.

News24 reports that the peroxide-blond flanker had a public fallout with Cheetahs coach Naka Drotske last month and told Afrikaans Sunday newspaper Sondag he would be looking to move to the Cape soon.

Floors claims his career is in a dead end street, and that the Cheetahs are not giving him enough opportunities.

“I have heard nothing yet from Rassie, but I wouldn’t refuse it if he offered me a contract to move to Cape Town,” Floors told Sondag.

“I am from the Southern Cape and I have always been a Western Province supporter with the atmosphere that they have there at Newlands. I would be dumb to say no to a good offer.

“At the moment I am not getting the opportunities in the Super 14 at the Cheetahs and I decided that I’m wasting my time sitting on the bench.”

Floors is now with the Springbok Sevens team preparing for London and Scotland legs of the IRB Sevens.

“I have now decided to focus my attention on Sevens and wait to see if I get any offers from a bigger union. It would be ideal to play rugby for Province because the Sevens team is also based in Stellenbosch.”

  • Not sure they need Floors with Watson, Schalla, Louw, Diack etc… I’m sure Rassie would not be too impressed with his recent spat either…

  • I also find it strange that Paul Treu was on Boots & All on Thursday night saying his players who join his squad have been given the instruction to choose between 7’s and 15’s.

So then what is Floors doing courting/waiting for the Stormers?

  • Have to agree. Was hoping to see Pieter Myburgh on saturday. That kind of weather conditions required steel ones like him.
