I’m not really sure if this is news or not, since we reported on it ages ago when it first broke in the UK papers. Just occasionally you do find something worth reading in the free rag they hand out on the trains!
So, Wikus van Heerden had apparently already signed for them a few weeks ago. Then the creative bit of fiction came out to say that he might stay in Pretoria, to allow him to join the new era of Bulls slumber parties, all taking place at Vic Matfield’s new pad. I wonder how they manage to tell their sleeping bags apart, since I’m sure they all have Heyneke Meyer on them.
Anyway, according to an article on Keo, that was a bit of a red herring. Wikus has indeed signed for Sarries and will turn his back on Pretoria, swapping it for the equally thriving metropolis of Watford. Perhaps the looming hole in the Bulls lineup will be known as the “Watford Gap” once Wikus boards the plane.
I think we can consider this matter closed, until the next time some lippy agent starts spreading further rumours about Wikus joining Toulon, or something.

Well chuffed with this signing but old Wikus has HUGE boots to fill at Sarries.
He did well for the Bulls….big loss for them!??!
@VinChainSaw (Comment 1) :
Who’s????
@Hmmm (Comment 3) : Some old fart called Richard Hill
@robdylan (Sharks Forever!) (Comment 4) :
What size does he wearβ¦.I am sure Wikus has bigger feet than him!??!
@Hmmm (Comment 5) :
Yeah he might ahve bigger feet but he definitely doesnt have bigger game than Hilly.
@robdylan (Sharks Forever!) (Comment 4) :
See they haven’t brain washed you into believe everything English is superior……….yet
@Dive Pass (Comment 7) : they have Vinnie though π …
@Dive Pass (Comment 7) : I still haven’t really found anything English….
@Dive Pass (Comment 7) :
Maybe when you have a world cup winner medal you can comment… π
@VinChainSaw (Comment 10) :
Like Wayne Julies?
@VinChainSaw (Comment 10) : come on, Vin. Richard Hill is NEVER going to go down in the annals of rugby as one of the great loose forwards. He’d struggle to make the top 30.
@VinChainSaw (Comment 6) :
LoL….was just messing…jinne but you got old very quick…
@robdylan (Sharks Forever!) (Comment 12) :
You dont watch much rugby do you?
Richard Hill, with the exception of Neil Back, is the best English opensider ever to have played the game.
Your problem is you’re still a youngster and havent ever watched him play…
@Hmmm (Comment 13) :
Mate, me too. That’s what that that little round yellow thing was for at the end of my post.
Here’s another one… π
@Dive Pass (Comment 11) :
Mate, Julies is one of those players to make up the numbers – Richard Hill was astalwart of the English side for more than a decade.
Wee bit of a difference and failure to acknowledge that difference sort of renders this debate pointless…
@VinChainSaw (Comment 14) : You are clearly wise beyond your years π
