The Ironman to hand out Bok jerseys

Springbok great Andre Venter will present the jerseys to the Springbok match 22 for Saturday’s Test against Wales at Vodacom Park in Bloemfontein, SA Rugy has announced.

The jersey ceremony will take place on Friday morning. according to News24.

Venter played 66 Tests for the Boks, and during his glittering career was regarded as one of the world’s finest loose forwards.

“Andre was the obvious choice to present the jerseys to the guys,” said Springbok coach Peter de Villiers. “We are very honoured that he accepted our invitation.

“He was the model Springbok during his career, and his bravery and courage in dealing with the tough cards life has dealt him since his retirement serve as inspiration to us all.

“I could think of no-one better to launch our four-year journey than him.”

  • Sheesh sorry I thought he was all well and didnt realise he was still battling.

    Its a shame really – he was proabbly the hardest player SA ever produced and if somebody can overcome these challenges then it is surely him.
