Herkie Kruger will lead the Wildeklawer Griquas in the Absa Currie Cup.
Griqua coach, Dawie Theron, on Tuesday told OFM Sport Kruger is a strong leader with lots of Super 14 experience for the Vodacom Cheetahs and the Sharks. He will take over the reigns from Gareth Krause (flanker) who captained Griquas in 2007.
Theron confirmed Krause was, however, still available after a short visit to Europe during the Super 14 series.
Hooker Hans van Dyk captained Griquas during the Vodacom Cup. Theron also confirmed Friday’s compulsory friendly against the Pumas in Witbank had been postponed until August 30.
