Gcobani Bobo will skipper Western Province against the Cheetahs at Newlands this weekend.
Coach Alistair Coetzee has tinkered very little with the side that downed the Bulls. Wicus Blaauw comes in at loosehead prop for Schalk Ferreira in the only change to the run-on 15. Wings Wylie Human and Tonderai Chavanga swap jerseys, with Tondie getting a start on the right, where he operated recently for the Springboks.
Apart from the change of captaincy, that’s all there really is to report. There are no personnel changes at all in the 22, showing good continuity in what is hoped to be a good season for Western Province.
Here is the team:
15 Aplon, 14 Chavanga, 13 des Fountain, 12 Bobo (capt), 11 Human, 10 de Waal, 9 Siegelaar, 8 Venter, 7 Louw, 6 Myburgh, 5 Skeate, 4 Fondse, 3 Harris, 2 Brits, 1 Blaauw
16 Fourie, 17 Ferreira, 18 van der Merwe, 19 Melck, 20 Delport, 21 Dollie, 22 Newman

Didn’t think Skeate was much of a captain.
Actually looked like AJ was captain for most of the game last week.
Very good decision.
Siegelaar has a good pass on him… still think WP played much better when Delport was on the field.
I reckon you guys can take this one
I reckon so too Rob.
Just a bit concerned that Des Fountain ain’t playing that well…
Not really a shock. Skeate was just the best of the left overs.
@wpw (Comment 3) :
I don’t think so…
@wpw (Comment 4) :
Yeh I think he played well last Saturday…he was real quick around the park…tackle not even touched the ground yet and he almost had his pass away…LoL
@molly (Comment 2) :
Think AJ is to new to the set-up…
@wpw (Comment 3) : @ra-cheltjie de’ be-er (Comment 7) :
Schalk Brits…he even captained Stormers in the S14 a few times (not sure if he captained a full game though)
All that Bobo does is ….woooooow….wooooow…..wooooow…when I see him do that I think of Nick Flair of WWE…just Bobo had no Flair though…
