Loffie Eloff has named a strong team to do battle with Griquas in Kimberley this weekend.

Jaco Pretorius shifts to the right wing to make space for Jacque Fourie, named to start in his favourite outside centre position this week. Earl Rose and Louis Ludik continue to occupy the other positions in the backs three, while regular Super 14 halfbacks Janno Vermaak and Louis Strydom remain in the side. Doppies la Grange will get another run at inside centre, as Walter Venter is still a week or so away from being fit.

Former Free State and Wildebeest fullback Tshepo Kokoali is on the bench, along with Jaco van Schalkwyk and replacement scrumhlaf Chris Jonck.

In the pack, lock Gerhardt Mostert is back after missing a few games through injury. He will partner former provinicla cricketer Dewald Senekal in the second row. The back row of Willem Alberts, Franco van der Merwe and skipper Baywatch Grobbelaar picks itself, now that van der Merwe is over the injury that kept him out last week. Heinke van der Merwe, Willie Wepener and Lawrie Sephaka continue in an unchanged front-row from the one that played against Boland.

There’s a new face amongst the forward replacements, as 20-year-old hooker Derek Harwood joins JC Janse van Rensburg, Alten Hulme and Justin Wheeler on the bench.

  • Comment 25, posted at 18.07.08 08:48:20 by Hmmm Reply

  • I am glad to see that Earl is starting to play a lot more consistently…in the S14 he was very hot and cold cold cold hot…if he can take that through to the

  • Comment 26, posted at 18.07.08 08:50:06 by Hmmm Reply

  • All Earl needs to do is jack up his defense just a lil and work on his positional play (covering the spaces at the back)…and continue with this form….then he will be one of the standout fullbacks in the S14 next year….

  • Comment 27, posted at 18.07.08 08:51:05 by Hmmm Reply

  • Jano is off his game…I’d kick him under the jack…yeh he did not make the Bokke training squad…but that is life….neither did Kockett!??! He is still playing well (well that is if and when he does play)….I’d drop him for Chris Jonk for a few games
