Former SA under-21 flyhalf Isma-eel Dollie will finally get to start a match in the Currie Cup this year after he was included in the Boland side yesterday for Saturday’s Currie Cup clash against the Cheetahs in Wellington.

IOL reports that Dollie replaces Elgar Watts as Boland coach Deon Davids overhauled his team after a 50-point drubbing from WP. A notable selection is that of Bok Sevens star Danwell Demas, who starts at right wing in place of John Daniels.

Boland team
Justin Peach, Danwell Demas, Cornell Hendricks, Lionel Cornelius, Alvin Hugo, Isma-eel Dollie, Neil Papier, Dries van Schalkwyk (capt), Frankie Horne, Zolani Mofu, Bradley Mockford, Frikkie Spies, WP Nel, Clemen Lewis, Jean Botha,
Bench; Pieter Wium, Janro van Niekerk, Cecil Kemp, Whalied Heyns, Marnus Hugo, Kobus Meintjes, Jacquin Jansen.

  • And wouldn’t you know it………..I still don’t get to see the guy play.

SS is showing the Sharks Griquas game instead of the Cheetahs Boland game.

Seems SS have got this choice spot on. 😎

  • Good move….Watts was a weakness in the Boland side…
Noticed it against the LIONS…Boland could possibly have score a losing bonus point against the Bulls…and he was absolutely nowhere against WP….

Even if Dollie is not inform it will be an improvement…

  • Is Demas not with the Bulls…sure I saw him play S14 there this year!??!

Was he just contracted there for the S14?

  • Demas? The crazy swapping merry-go-round continues.

Why do the Sharks never benefit?

You one to talk…you have Jordaan/Swanepoel/Bordman….
LIONS have Rusty-Dusty Noble (one person by the way)…

They did not have the LIONS vs minnows games scheduled either…but they did advertise them on Super Sport during that day and showed it at 20:05 on one of the SS channels…

I doubt that they wont have a team there!??! But hey…we talking SS here….
