The Valke have dropped flyhalf Len Olivier for Friday night’s clash against the Blue Bulls in Brakpan for the versatile Riaan “True Blue” Smit.
IOL reports that Smit will again take up the flyhalf reigns with Olivier dropping to the bench after a scintillating display a fortnight ago against Western Province.
Valke coach Rudy Joubert has also recalled suspended winger Johan Swartz and moved the speedy Nicky Kritzinger back to fullback.
Currently contracted Blue Bulls players – winger Dewald Pretorius and outside centre Johan Jackson – will get an opportunity to impress against their employers.
Valke coach Rudy Joubert has also opted to bring back another Blue Bulls player, flanker Emile Verster, for his physical presence against his former team-mates. He replaces Reg-Hack Muller, who drops down to the bench after injuring an ankle.
A decision on big Wouter Moore, the fourth member of the Bulls quartet on loan to the Valke, will be made later this week. Moore is a vital member of the squad, and should he not play, Reg Perkins will keep his place in the Starting XV.
He will be joined by the rugged Ruhan “Chabal” van Jaarsveld, a Sebastian Chabal look-alike who won’t give an inch against a physical Bulls side.
Big Lungelo Payi has also been pencilled in on the bench as cover for Moore.
Valke: Nicky Kritzinger; Dewald Pretorius, Johan Jackson, Hanno Coetzee, Johan Swartz; True Blue Smit, Gerrie Odendaal; Sean Plaatjies, Emile Verster, Warren Perkins, Ruhan van Jaarsveld, Wouter Moore/Reg Perkins, Nico Pretorius, Ryno Barnes, Gavin Whittingham.
Reserves: Jody Jeneker, Frik Venter, Lungelo Payi/Reg Perkins, Reg Muller, Straatkat van Zyl, Len Olivier, Jeff Perkins/Mpho Matsaung. –

okay pun not intended but I am truely shocked that they have dropped Len Olivier. I thought he has had a great fooking season.
But rudy joubert seems to know what he is doing so far this season so let’s have a wait and see.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 1) : Also got a bit of a skrik when i saw the headline
I hope True Blue (Riaan) Smit, does the business.
I really enjoy this team in the last few weeks.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 3) : you mean I can like to really enjoy this team, oubbas? 😉
just like he can like to enjoy his windsurfing
@robdylan (Comment 4) :
Ja bru, Ek gat my 1400 bakkie met my spinners en Bull-bar daar by die veld park en hulle watch ekse.
@PJLD (Comment 5) :
Ja but only if they are jolling “slice me nice” or Black Sabbath my bru.
En as ek so paar klippes weg het en my broer kan die bakkie so lekker rev rev dan klink dit soos musiek en wil ook sommer windsurf.
😯 sadi thing is you are probable speaking from experience 🙁
@PJLD (Comment 8) :

Add windsurfing to the list of things I have never and will never triy/tried

@ra-cheltjie de’ be-er (Comment 12) :

@I’ce (Rebel With a Cause) (Comment 15) : I see… thanks. 🙂
@KSA Shark © (Comment 9) :
If you do it properly – its nothing like “windsurfing” and actually very nice…funny how normally the windsurfing snotty comments comes from people with two left feet… 🙄 😆
@ra-cheltjie de’ be-er (Comment 12) :
“Truely” shocked that “True blue” replaced len olivier
@I’ce (Rebel With a Cause) (Comment 17) :
okay sorry my mistake, Windsufing in a whirlwind is what I meant 😳
@KSA Shark © (Comment 18) :
dropped in the same sentence as a losskakel could also be…NOT? 😉
@KSA Shark © (Comment 18) : If you say so. Only ‘pun’ I know of is the one that I use to fry my eggs in the morning. 😕
@I’ce (Rebel With a Cause) (Comment 20) :

@ra-cheltjie de’ be-er (Comment 21) :

@KSA Shark © (Comment 23) : pun sounds like pan (afr).
@KSA Shark © (Comment 22) :
Ag please….which LIONS flyhalf can drop….and AndreP does not count anymore…
@KSA Shark © (Comment 22) :
I am actually talking “drop” kick here….as in THAT way … 🙄
A perfect pun exploits words pairs that sound exactly alike (perfect homophones), or two senses of the same word:
“Being in politics is just like playing golf: you are trapped in one bad lie after another.”
“A fight broke out in a kitchen. Egged on by the waiters, two cooks peppered each other with punches. One man, a greasy foie gras specialist, ducked the first blows, but his goose was cooked when the other cold-cocked him. The man who beet him, a weedy salad expert with big cauliflower ears, tried to flee the scene, but was cornered in the maize of tables by a husky off-duty cob. He was charged with a salt and battery. He claims to look forward to the suit, as he’s always wanted to be a sous-chef.”
@ra-cheltjie de’ be-er (Comment 28) : Impressive!! 😀
@Silver Fox (Comment 29) : Not my own work, I plagiarised from someone else.
@ra-cheltjie de’ be-er (Comment 30) : I will take the liberty to also borrow this piece, cause there are way too many people saying pun intended/or not, and then not knowing what they are talking about. really super example to show them.
And I am not taking a shot at you KSA, yours was okay, it fooled the blonde one and me as well. 🙂
@Silver Fox (Comment 31) :
The Blonde One…

GO VALKE!!!!!!
@H.O. from work (Comment 33) : Amen!
@H.O. from work (Comment 33) : Ever heard your boss being called Silver Fox? 😈
@Silver Fox (Comment 35) :
You are not the boss of him… 😈
wondering what you guys would call yourselves on an Italian language blog…? 😉
@robdylan (Comment 37) :
Why?? Any suggestions?
@I’ce (Rebel With a Cause) (Comment 38) : never mind 😉
@robdylan (Comment 39) :
You know – you all have these secret little jokes that only you understand and the rest of us feel like poepols and I for one always feel like a complete dumb blonde!!???
Quite bazaar, dont you think??!! 😉
@I’ce (Rebel With a Cause) (Comment 40) :
Oh …and if Fish reads this…yes I know you will never say that I a stupid…although you might think it… 😉

He does have a high average apparently this year…

@Hmmm (Comment 44) :
Steyn has been caught up by Clark and since the last test against India Muli has created an even bigger gap…
But Steyn still in 2nd and this only his second season as regular bowler….not bad…
But lets face it….Muli is going to be THE bowling legend….he is going to create such a gap between him and second placed person in most wickets ever (currently still Warne)…especially if he bowls to the same age Warne did (about 5 years to go)…and off-spinners usually last longer than leg!??! I wont be surprised if he does not end on close to double the next person….

Hence the accepted response to FJ!!! ELN!!! is usually “Okay, see you in bit” 😉
