The Falcons will change their home ground for the fourth time in seven years as they return to the Barnard Stadium in Kempton Park next year.
Afrikaans Sunday newspaper Sondag reported that the Falcons had taken the decision this week to return to Kempton Park, as the infrastructure is better there than their current home at the Bosman stadium in Brakpan.
Rugby 365 reports that according to the Falcons president SJ de Beer, a contract still has to be signed but negotiations are at an extended phase with all parties being involved.
“Everyone is happy with what we have discussed thus far,” De Beer told Sondag.
De Beer said the geographical location of Barnard stadium is the main reason for the move.
“Most of the Falcons supporters come from the east. Kempton Park is also closer to the airport and to many of our spectators.”
De Beer confirmed that the Falcons now will have to pay for the upkeep of the stadium grounds, which was not the case at Bosman stadium.

and the lions can move to brakpan. at least they would fill the stadium.

And maybe get the grass to be a little greener. 😉
how the hell do they intend paying for the upkeep of the stadium?
@PJLD(RIP Bernie Mac) (Comment 3) :
That thought crossed my mind as well. I can only hope that what they are paying for the USE of the Stadium is MUCH less than in Brakpan and that they are using some of the saved funds.
if you had put Use and Much in inverted commas i woulda thrown a rock at you

I was at the Lions vs Valke match, and was shocked to see the state of the seats on the stands, most of them are broken…clearly not too much money available.
I also heard a comment that the whole Valke squad gets the same salary as one of the Bulls locks…LOL!

Pathetic!!!! And that lock can only be ole Vic, who shouted all over the newspapers how he is valiantly taking a lot less money than he can make abroad. All out of love for his country. Pathetic!!!
Have I mentioned that I find it pathetic?? 😀
It almost sounds like you do….LOL!
Valke not exactly big payers, some dude on the wpclubrugby forum turned down an offer from the valke because he gets paid more playing SLA in CT.
Relocating would just not be worth it.
