Lekker, maaitjies, lekker!

Ouens, i are have bad news for julle haaitjies, want die BULLE are on road for Durban and they am going to MOKER you ouens in the Vodacom Cup Finaal this weekend.  I have seen it when I are look deep in the bottom of my brandy-glass last night, using a tegniek what Ma have tought me from haar teeblare.

It are all going to be one by vat Bulle slot helde Bakkies en ou Victor Matlock, wat will be bobaas in that linestands. When ou Uli put that bal in for ou Victor it are going to be only one way of verkeer, ek tjune julle nie. From ou Robert de Preez by skrumskakel to Dale Steyn by losskakel en then gaan daai Miesiekind net sommer runs right through julle ouens and scores the three under the pales. Lucky he will not needs to pass, want vat Thinus Delport oke have never actually seen a pass from Olivier before so he won’t expect one even if it come.

And vat are going to be vat, ek se nou vir you ouens. Werner Gerber and Goodthrow Engels will moer vat blerrie Tjarks souties in die skrum en ou Piet Spies are going to run right over vat oke wif the kroeskophaar. I are saw the Bulls practice sessie and they have even got a special plan for ou Spiesie – they can likes to give him magic handskoens wiff that superglue gom stuff for it to help hi vang the bal first.

En wat van ou Bernie Habanna? Ouens, even if it takes hands for the ruck and a knock-on what the ref aren’t spot, I have gotted a kief feeling vat our Habs are going to druk the Wendrie again this year, just like he did back in the Super 14 in 2006. And then that Cup are coming back to Pretoria and we are going to get stukkend drinking brannas out of that cup here by Loftus!

Groete tot na die finaal

Piet Pienaar (Vrou have say I aren’t allowed to go for Durban anymore, so I can like to watch on TV from Tuine)

  • 😯 Crikey, that was a big forward pass from Meisiekind last weekend. If the ref misses that sort of thing next weekend, we’re in for a long day.

Fortunately JK is the ref. We ALL know he is the best in SA, 😉 so no worries about that happening.

Former Wallaby coach and Springbok World Cup mentor Eddie Jones believes Ruan Pienaar should be convinced to concentrate on playing flyhalf.

Log on to Topfan.com to see our winning Haka video which is featured as the video of the week.

And he contends Francois Steyn’s current best position is inside centre.

Jones expressed these views in the course of an in-depth interview for Boots and All (to be broadcast on SuperSport 1 and CSN on Thursday night from 20.30 – 21.30).

Jones, who is now the coach at Saracens, has been in South Africa to investigate the possibility of a player exchange between the English club and the Blue Bulls and Western Province thanks to the fact that local sports promotions company SAIL holds shares in all three organizations.

“Ruan Pienaar, that’s who I had would pick,” said Jones. “They (the Springbok selectors) should pick him at 10 and just stick with him for a couple of years. He’s such a talented player.

“In terms of stand-off Butch James has done a tremendous job, but he is playing back-to-back seasons so it is going to catch up with him, and he is getting older…

“The guy I like is Ruan Pienaar. He trained during the World Cup at stand-off (flyhalf) and to me he looks the most like a Steve Larkham. He’s got outstanding pace, he’s got great catch, pass – he’ll have to learn how to play that position, and it will take a couple of seasons, but you know Steve Larkham wasn’t the finished product until three or four years down the track.

“It will take that investment but to me Ruan’s got everything you would need to have as a good stand-off for the Springboks – and he’s tough! you know he doesn’t mind mixing it,” said the man who imparted vital additional dimensions to the Springboks’ march to World Cup victory last year.

Jones added he would be running Francois Steyn at inside centre. “I think at this stage Francois is an inside centre. He was outstanding at the World Cup – big, strong guy, gets over the gainline, very good kicking game, great defender – so you could actually use him as a second stand-off as well.

“So going forward you could have a Ruan Pienaar at 10 and a Francois Steyn at 12 – it not only gives you running options, it gives you kicking options and also passing options. Imagine playing against them when they’re on song? Plus they’re young and have many years to come,” added Jones.

  • @barend (Comment 8) : Jones also thinks Morne Steyn is a great flyhalf and that the Bulls are going to win by 8 points next weekend!
