It is with great sadness that we learned of the untimely passing of rugby writer Chris Hewitt.
Hewitt was a young man who, having been through the mill to an extent, had decided to rather concentrate on learning to fly, with the intention of becoming a commercial pilot. Hewitt and his instructor both lost their lives when their light aircraft crashed near Krugersdorp last night.
This is the second tragedy to affect the community of SA rugby media in under a month. Well-respected Afrikaans TV commentator Chris Moller tragically passed away three weeks ago in a motor accident. Moller was on his way back from Durban after the Currie Cup semi-final between the Sharks and the Lions.
Sharksworld would like to extend our sincerest regrets and condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of both men.

Young man indeed. Sad stuff…
RIP to old man Moller as well.
He really had it bad these last few months and then this.
Condolences to his family.

Condolences to both the Hewitt and the family of the pilot instructor.
So sad for all concerned.
Rest in peace Chris.
Nice of you to write a piece with some emotion as opposed to the clinical statement on Keo.
