The coach of the Vodacom Bulls, Frans Ludeke, confirmed on Monday morning that quite a few of the team’s Springboks will play against the Lions at Wits on Saturday afternoon.

The Bulls Website reports that guys like Bryan Habana, Akona Ndungane, Bakkies Botha and Danie Rossouw will get game time, but the majority of the senior Boks will only be used in one of the other warm-up matches.

It is expected that Rossouw will start at lock at the side of Wilhelm Steenkamp, while Botha, Habana and Ndungane will be unleashed in the second half.

Chiliboy Ralepelle will also get valuable game time in the number 2 jersey, whereas it is accepted that Wayne Julies will start at inside centre.

The new recruit Dries van Schalkwyk will get his first chance to impress the Bulls’ supporters and there is an outside chance that someone like the under 20 flyer, Gerhard van den Heever, will make his debut on the wing against the Lions. The Bulls’ first friendly will be against the Lions on Saturday and thereafter they will play against the Cheetahs in Polokwane followed by a match against the Sharks.

  • Looking at this announcement, the Sharks being undercooked is not really a major concern of mine anymore.

if the Bulls team only play their Boks in ONE warm-up match what is the use of playing 3 warm-up matches then if your main players have only played in one.

Then the matches were trial matches not warm-up matches.
