The Bulls have rejected a return to the province by former coach Heyneke Meyer.
According to Afrikaans Sunday newspaper Sondag, current Bulls coach Frans Ludeke last week did a presentation for the Board of directors which included suggestions of a return for Meyer in a Director of coaching role and a return for Springboks Derick Hougaard and Jaco van der Westhuyzen to the province.
Both ideas were rejected by the Bulls board.
In a separate development the newspaper reported that Meyer had offered Bulls business manager Ian Schwartz a job, but had been rejected as Schwartz still has two years on his current Bulls contract.
Schwartz is the main talent identification officer at the Bulls and was instrumental under Meyer in luring a host of young talent to the Bulls during his time.
Meyer confirmed the offer but said it wasn’t a formal one when approached by the newspaper.
“We had a chat about Ian’s future but there was no formal offer,” he told Sondag.
The Bulls are currently top of the Super 14 log with a game in hand
