How’s that for value for money? Three team announcements in one!
JD Moller in for Wicus Blaauw… sounds a bit like shuffling the ole deckchairs on the Titanic, doesn’t it? Blaauw is bracketed on the bench with that other scrummaging powerhouse Schalk Ferreira. When it rains, it pours!
Stormers – 15 Conrad Jantjes, 14 Wylie Human, 13 Gcobani Bobo, 12 Jean De Villiers (capt), 11 Sireli Naqelevuki, 10 Peter Grant, 9 Ricky Januarie, 8 Luke Watson, 7 Duane Vermeulen, 6 Schalk Burger, 5 AJ Venter, 4 Adriaan Fondse, 3 Brian Mujati, 2 Schalk Brits, 1 JD Moller.
Subs: 16 Tiaan Liebenberg, 17 Wicus Blaauw/Schalk Ferreira, 18 Hilton Lobberts, 19 Francois Louw, 20 Dewaldt Duvenage, 21 Willem De Waal, 22 Dylan Des Fountain.
Zane Kirchner and Gurthrö Steenkamp are both fit to start, so thank heavens we won’t have to see the out-of-form Bryan Habana out-of-position as well!
Bulls – 15 Zane Kirchner; 14 Akona Ndungane, 13 Jaco Pretorius, 12 Wynand Olivier, 11 Bryan Habana, 10 Morné Steyn, 9 Fourie du Preez, 8 Pierre Spies, 7 Danie Rossouw, 6 Dewald Potgieter, 5 Victor Matfield (capt), 4 Bakkies Botha, 3 Werner Kruger, 2 Chiliboy Ralepelle, 1 Gurthrö Steenkamp.
Subs: 16 Jaco Engels, 17 Rayno Gerber, 18 Pedrie Wannenburg, 19 Derick Kuün, 20 Heini Adams, 21 Burton Francis, 22 JP Nel.
The Lions have made 5 changes, with Mossie Fourie now captaining the team in addition to doing all the playing on his own. Deon van Rensburg and Todd Clever are respectively pretending to be an inside centre and an openside flanker.
Lions – 15 Louis Ludik, 14 Shandré Frolick, 13 Jaque Fourie (capt), 12 Deon van Rensburg, 11 Henno Mentz, 10 Andre Pretorius, 9 Chris Jonck, 8 Willem Alberts, 7 Ernst Joubert, 6 Todd Clever, 5 Gerhard Mostert, 4 Anton van Zyl, 3 Gert Muller, 2 Willie Wepener, 1 Heinke van der Merwe.
Subs: 16 Hans van Dyk, 17 Lawrence Sephaka, 18 Franco van der Merwe, 19 Robert Kruger, 20 Jano Vermaak, 21 Earl Rose, 22 Jannie Boshoff.

I wonder how Gcobani Bobo and Jaco Pretorius feel about falling even further down the Springbok pecking order at 13? There are three at the Sharks who will surely keep them out of contention – and one of them’s been injured all season and the other’s a rookie who’s only had game time at wing!
Anyone else keen at the prospect of losing 15+ players to the Boks during the Currie Cup, just to see how awesome our Academy boys are?
How Kallie Woekie keeps his place is beyond me. I suppose there is just no one else. Maybe he’s planning a move to prop.
3 in 1 – easter special
feels like friday just no rugga 😕
@rekinek (Comment 5) : agree
@MysticShark (Comment 4) :
Maybe if he removed that papsak he hides under his jersey…he’d be able to run…
@JT-www.rugby-innsbruck.at (Comment 2) :
Now we know from where Maties got their strip. Were you one of the interviewees?
@MerckZ (Comment 3) : Gcobani Bobo? Ha ha ha! 🙂
Stormers might as well move Loony Lobberts to wing in place of Father Time or the Fijian Somnambulist.
He was after all Boland Schools 400m champion, and at least he will get involved – even if only in the fights.
@Big Fish (Comment 10) : LOL 🙂 You are funny on Thursdays
I missed the fact that the useless “soft prop” Rayno Gerber has been demoted to the bench. REAL tightheads don’t wear goatees.
