It’s the third match on the British and Irish Lions’ tour of South Africa and today, yet another catfight will play out on the rock hard fields of Bloenfontein.
The Lions’ midweek team did well to overcome the hapless Golden Lions by a cricket score on Wednesday night. Will the Saturday side do a similar number on the perennial Super 14 basement-dwelling Cheetahs? They will need to up their game considerably, after nearly coming embarassingly unstuck against the Royal XV last weekend.
The Cheetahs will have ideas of their own, however and will look to repeat their giant-killing exploits in the recent Super 14. They will be at virtually full strength too, with only Juan Smith lost to the national cause.
